Okay, so I was on the bus this morning, when I thought of a one-shot. So, yes, I will also put one-shots in here.

Modern AU.

"You look so stupid!" Astrid said through fits of giggles. Her boyfriend, Hiccup, was crossing his eyes and sticking his tongue out. It was an early Friday morning, heading to Berk High. Hiccup's car broke down, so the two were forced to take the bus.

"But that's why you love me," Hiccup said, leaning in to kiss her. Before his lips could meet hers, a car honk rang throughout their ears. Before anyone could react, a car hood punctured the bus wall. Right where Astrid and Hiccup were sitting, with Astrid on the inside.

Astrid screamed in agony as the car trapped her arm between it and the wall. Hiccup watched in horror as tears streamed down his girlfriend's face. He called for his black wolf, Toothless. They were a mere block from the Haddock house. Stoick, Hiccup's father, came outside, and ran towards the bus with Toothless.

"Son, what happened?" Stoick asked, breathless.

"This car, Astrid's arm. We."

"Say no more," Gobber said, reaching the bus. With the driver of the other car's approval, the two men lifted up the car, throwing it a couple of feet. They dragged Astrid out of the hole, and laid her on the pavement.

"Hiccup, go comfort the other children. They are all scared," Stoick ordered. His son nodded, and walked away. He didn't need to see anymore unconscious Astrid.

"Hey, hey, it'll be okay. See, there's an ambulance," Hiccup said. Midmorning traffic must've been terrible. "Wait there's an ambulance," Hiccup reiterated, leaving the last kid. Hiccup jogged to where the ambulance was parking.

"Yeah, Number 4 here. We have one unconscious for Gothi's medical. We'll be there," the paramedic said into her radio. They carefully got Astrid on to a stretcher, and were putting her in the back.

"May I ride with her?" Hiccup asked.

"Who are you?" The lady questioned.

"I'm her boyfriend."

"Will we have room in there Bill?" The lady, Jan, asked.

"Yeah," Bill responded.

"Let's go," Jan said. They put Astrid in, and then Hiccup, and Jan followed.

"Weeeeeyyyoooooo, weeeeeyyyoooooo," the ambulance wailed. They turned down Fourth, headed up Sixth, blew through Eighth, and stopped at Gothi's medical on Tenth. The nurses on staff opened the doors to reveal doctors and nurses awaiting the arrival of the ambulance.

"Bring her to lab 4!" One nurse said.

"Get IVs ready!" Screamed another.

"She'll need Gothi!" The one inspecting Astrid's arm said. They whisked Astrid away, leaving a dazed Hiccup by himself. Astrid's parents were on a cruise, and wouldn't be back for another month.

"Son, are you alright?" Stoick asked. He put an arm on his son's shoulder.

"No, dad, I'm not alright! Astrid could be dying," Hiccup said, allowing the tears to fall freely.

"Hiccup, if anyone can make Astrid better, it's Gothi. She's the best," Gobber reassured.

"Gobber, Gothi is mute," Hiccup relied.

"Son, what Gobber is trying to say, is Astrid is in good hands," Stoick replied. "I'll be back in a moment. Astrid's parents should know what's going on."

"Okay dad. See you in a bit," Hiccup said. He sat down in a hospital chair, his head in his hands.

"Gobber, what if she won't be okay. What if, what if she ends up like me?" Hiccup asked. He looked down at his prosthetic leg. It the light up above reflected off of it's newly shined surface.

"C'mon Toothless. This Alpha Wolf has got to go," Hiccup said. He ran alongside his newfound pal, heading to where it was tangled in nets.

Toothless prepared for the pounce, that would kill the Alpha Wolf. Just before he could, one of the traps that was set went off, the blade killing the Alpha. The roping tripped Hiccup, sending him over the edge of the cliff. Toothless leapt after him, them falling into the abyss below. Hiccup's leg was the only thing that didn't make it.

Hiccup shuddered at the memory of losing his leg. Although he didn't enjoy having a metal leg, it did help fend off the bullies. They completely left him alone junior year.

"Hiccup, the worse they'll tell us is that she'll need surgery. She won't lose her arm."

"Thanks, I hope you're right," was all Hiccup said before hearing his phone ring. He pulled it out of his pocket, a picture of Heather filling the screen.

"Hiccup, where are you guys?" Heather asked.

"The bus got in an accident, and Astrid is in the hospital," Hiccup replied.

"That's why she didn't answer her phone. We tried calling it like, ten times. Then we realized that you weren't at school either."

"Gee, thanks Heather," Hiccup replied.

"Well, we are worried about you as well, just, not as much as Astrid. How is she doing by the way?" Heather asked.

"Um, I'm not sure. My dad is finding out as we speak," Hiccup replied, watching his father talk to the doctor. She wrote on a scrap piece of paper, scrawling in ink.

"Oh, okay. Well, I'll talk to you later, keep us posted," Heather replied. She seemed to draw out her voice as one of the teachers was heard in the background.

"Alright, I will, bye," Hiccup said. He pressed the END CALL button as his father walked up.

"She broke almost all of the bones in her arm. She fainted because of shock. She'll snap out of it in a couple of hours. Oh, yeah, and they said you can go visit her now."

"I think I'll do that," Hiccup replied. Gobber and Stoick watched as he hurriedly opened the door to Astrid's room.

Hiccup sat down in the doctor's stool, pulling it under him. He took Astrid's right hand and gently caressed it, as if it would break. "Astrid, I love you. I can't imagine a world without you in it.  Please don't leave." With tears rolling down his cheeks, Hiccup got up and left.

Four years later, Hiccup and Astrid got married. It was the rather large Catholic church down town that got to host this large event. Old friends from High School and almost the entire city came. It was so big, the local news station came to broadcast it. The church wasn't big enough for everyone to fit in.

After the wedding, the reception was held at the Town Hall. Another kazzilion people decided to attend. Bad idea to invite the public.

Astrid walked up to the mic, ready to   give the last speech of the evening. Her next words didn't do much to the crowd, but, it did alot for Hiccup. "Thank you so much for coming and sharing our special day. And, to Hiccup, I can't imagine a world without you in it either."
