Lucas' pov

"She was in the store next to the one we were in. She was on her way to get crazy for losing her child at the mall. It was funny seeing her like that," Maya started and folded another one piece, "I mean, I totally get it. If I had lost one of the twins, I wouldn't remember how to be calm until I had him in my arms again."

"I'm impressed. You were so mature and just perfect." I said as we drove home. "Yeah sureee." Maya said sarcastically and continued looking through everything we had bought.

"You totally were. Just how you took him on your hip and dried his tears, you calmed him down." I said and looked at my blonde beauty for in a second.

"That's just because he knew me." Maya said.

"That doesn't matter. You calmed him down, you were his safe place." I said and took her hand.

"Maybe," Maya said and chuckled a little, "I'm just glad I was needed."

"I'm so lucky you're the mother to my kids." I said and squeezed her hand lightly. "Says you! I'm the lucky one!" Maya said and smiled playfully.

We continued our conversation and it all ended with a kiss as soon as I parked the car in the driveway at my parents.

"Lucas! I think my water broke!" Maya said and made chills down my spine. "Oh gosh." I said and took her hand.

I help her downstairs and called my parents who must've call the Matthews. Within minutes we were in the hospital.

Maya was in a hospital bed and told to remain calm in between the contractions. The doctors and nurses was discussing something in the corner and they all seemed so worried.

Then one of the nobbed their head and came up to me. "Mr? Can I talk to you for a second." He asked. I looked over at Maya, who nobbed. "Sure." I said and stood up. He showed me outside.

"What's up?" I asked. "Unfortunately, there's something we have discovered that can lead to fatal consequences." He said and folded his hands.

"What?" I askd feeling the frustration building up inside. "Maya, she is..." he started. "What she is what?" I asked getting even more upset.

"She is going to die tonight." He said. As soon as thise words left his mouth, my heart broke into a billion pieces. "What?!" I asked with tears in my eyes. I didn't want to believe it.

"Since Maya is as young as she is, her body is still growing and as soon as she starts bleeding, it's take to long time to stop it. And when she gonna bleed from a bigger wound or open area as now, she'll bleed to death before we can help." He said. I broke down inside. I can't lose Maya like this!

"But isn't it anything you can do?" I asked and tears streamed down my face. I threw a look into Maya's hospital room, where she were having no clue what was about to happen would happen.

"Unfortunately, no. Nothing. If she give birth to the kids, she'll bleed to death after they're both out. If we take them out, the wound won't heal and she have a more pain for bleeding to death experience." He said.

I was shocked. I couldn't say anything at all. I was... gone.

"I'm sorry Mr. We all pray for you. But why don't we go inside-..." he started but I just pushed him away and walked straight into Maya's room.

I grabbed her face and kissed her. "Lucas.. you're crying,  what is it?" She asked. "I'll not lose you." I said.

"Of course not. I'm right here-..." she started but was cut off by a nurse. "Time to push Miss Hart! On three." She said.

Maya closed her eyes and pushed whenever the nurse told her too. By each push, she was getting weaker, blod was starting to drip down and my tears was falling down.

"Come on! Push!" They all said and Maya groaned out. "I'm out of power." She said and squeezed my hand. "Do it for the babies.. for me. I love you." I said and sat down.

She nobbed her head and squeezed my hand even more. "AHHHHH!" Maya shouted out in pain, but out came one beautiful little boy.

Some doctors hurried up to help. "One out, one left. Now push!" The nurse said. Maya squeezed my hand even tighter and harder. She was yelling in pain, using everything left bit of power that she had.

I was just standing, waiting for my boys to arrive and my girlfriend to die. And I couldn't do a freaking shit about it. The blood was streaming our of Maya now, but she continued pushing until our second baby boy was out.

"They are so beautiful." I said with tears in my eyes and all over my shirt.

"Tell...tell them I love them." Maya whispered. Her grip around my hand was weaker and her eyes started to close. The machines she was connected to started to beep slower.

"No no no no no. Maya, stay here. I love you!" I said and sat down next to her bed. "I. Love. You too, Huckleber-..." She stuttered before the machine went all still. There was just one long

Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep

"No! NO! MAYA!! MAAAYYYYAAA!!!" I shouted as my eyes closed. I couldn't open them, because it hurted to see her like that.

"Lucas." I heard. Everything was black now.

"Lucas. Wake up."

"Lucas."

I took a deep breath and opened my eyes.

My eyes landed on my beautiful Maya holding around me and smiled carefully. "You. Your here. With me, alive." I said.

"Yeah, I've always been." Maya chuckled. Then it went up for me. I looked around. My bed, blankets, room. I was home, with Maya and she had a baby bump.

"Oh gosh. Thank god. It was just a dream. A nightmare." I said and looked back at Maya.

"You sounded terrified. What was it about?" She asked. "You don't wanna know..." I said. "I do! Tell me, I'm here to talk to ya know?" She said and hit me playfully.

"I'm not sure if I should tell." I said and dried my tears. I had cried in real life too so.

Maya gave me a glare and I understood I had no other choice than to tell. "I dreamed that you were in labor, just about to give birth and the doctor told me you was gonna die. That there were nothing they could do... And then you... you...you. The machines they.... the babies... you." I stuttered and started crying again. Maya was shocked but quickly hugged me tight and kissed me.

"Oh my handsome Huckleberry, don't cry please. It hurts so bad. And I'm right here, with you, and I'm not going anywhere. The twins are doing great and so am I. And we love our daddy." Maya said and chuckled at the last sentence. It made me smile and I felt great again. I sat her on my lap and kissed her.

"Thank you." I said.

"For what?"

"For being you. The mother to my children."
