So I don't actually do outlines normally because I usually always have an idea of how I want to finish a chapter in mind at all times so I've never really found the need for one of these but I have created some before for my editor since we are writing a story together.

I'm a plot heavy kind of person so I enjoy having plot in every chapter and so I keep a goal in mind for each chapter that can help push forward the chapter because no chapter should be a pointless chapter, every one needs a meaning to it. When I create outlines they look something like this.

GOAL:

BEGINNING:

KEY POINTS:

EXTRA SCENES:

ENDING:

SIGNIFICANT/IMPORTANT SCENES:

If you want something like a basic plot outline I have this template I found online

All in all, there are different ways to outline a chapter and/or plot and no way is right or wrong it really depends on the person like I don't generally use them but I suggest, if you're new at this, to use outlines
