Not long passed before Kakuzu had gotten a permanent partner - an annoying religious freak, as he called him. The guys name was Hidan. He had heard rumors during his stay in villages when he did bounty hunts of a girl named Yumiko Shiori in the Leaf Village. He had heard many rumors, some clearly exaggerated but there were a few that caught his attention: She joined the ANBU, she was romantically involved with 2 people since he hurt her. A man named Yamato and Kakashi. Rumor has it she is currently involved with Kakashi. It made him mad - she was his. And the final one - she had a son. He didn't know who the father was. He hadn't seen the child before.

But.. at least she was alive. "What's wrong old man?" Hidan snickered when he noticed Kakuzu gazing at the gates of the Leaf Village from the tree he stood on. He was there because he had found Yumiko's name in the bingo book. She had become the Villages pet. She killed and stole for them. "I'm fine. Let's go," Kakuzu said leaving the vicinity of the village. He wanted to see her but knew he shouldn't. Not yet. Hidan groaned before following him. "Stop leading us on a goose chase. Let's kill someone already!" His partner groaned. Kakuzu ignored him, throwing a single look back and catching sight of the girl he loved.

She was being embraced by another man at the gates of the village. He recognized her. She was still as beautiful as ever. He turned his head and took off. There was no need to worry - she would be his again soon enough. He just had to be patient. Hidan had caught sight of Kakuzu looking back and looked back as well. He saw the girl - she was hot. He looked at Kakuzu with a raised eyebrow, 'The old man's in love, huh?' He chuckled to himself.

Yumiko embraced Kakashi. He was going on a mission and she was stuck in the village. She had only been there for a year or 2- Naruto had been constantly out on mission. He promised her when he returned they would find her partner. But she wasn't sure if she wanted to anymore. She was happy. Sometimes she thought about Kakuzu. Mostly because he had almost killed their child. As she left Kakashi, she rushed home to her son - Kizune. He had his fathers eyes and her wavy black hair. He was precious and so adorable.

Sai had been watching over Kizune as a favor. She was surprised as she walked in and Sai was teaching Kizune how to paint. She smiled softly and walked over, surprised when she saw her child's drawing. "Wow.." She whispered, before Kizune jumped up, hugging her. She smiled softly at her son before looking at Sai. "You taught him how to draw like that?" She asked and Sai looked proud, "I've been teaching him since he was able to hold a pencil," He said proudly. Yumiko laughed, "Incredible," She responded. "Mama, I love you," Kizune said, looking at his mother.

She smiled softly at him before picking him up. "My little artist," She cooed, kissing him on the cheek. "Thank you so much Sai. You're a gem," She said and Sai stood up, bowing. "I don't mind. I like drawing with him. Let me know if you need me to watch him anytime soon," Sai said with a smile on his face before leaving. She put her son down and looked at the art book, looking through the pictures. She stopped when she saw one of Kakuzu. Kizune had never seen Kakuzu.. So how? She looked over at her son.

"I had a dream so I drew him," Kizune said, looking at his mother. "A dream..?" She whispered. "What did you see?" She asked and Kizune looked sad, "I saw Naruto and your friends kill him.." He replied. Yumiko dropped the book as she stared at her son. 'He has the sight..?' She questioned herself before forcing a smile on her face and pulling her son close. "I think it was just a bad dream," She consoled him. She wasn't prepared to tell him that was his father. Not yet. Kizune was only 2, he wasn't old enough. But had was so smart already.

Kizune could also read and draw, he was learning to write and.. and he wasn't struggling. He was.. a genius. Many of her new found friends had commented on it. She had been praised for it. But she was worried. If he became known as a prodigy, what would happen to him? What if Kakuzu heard about him? He would come for them. She forced the thoughts out of her mind. "I'm so proud of you," She whispered.

"I love you so much Kizune," She said, pulling away and kissing his temple. "Pack away your things and get dressed - let's go out for dinner tonight. We can have anything you want," She smiled as Kizune's face lit up. "I want ramen like Naruto!" He cheered before running off. Yumiko smiled - Kizune loved Naruto. And Naruto treated him like his own little brother. Perhaps it's because Naruto stayed with them so often? She had seen how he was treated and heard.. She hated it so she invited him over often. She wanted him to feel what it was like to have a family.

Once Kizune was ready to took him out, taking him straight to his favorite place. And she was surprised to see Naruto there. Kizune immediately ran over, hugging him. She smiled softly and walked over, ordering the food and paying for Naruto's. She sat and watched as the boys started eating happily, and talking. Her mind wandered back to her ex lover. If what Kizune said was true.. then Kakuzu was in danger. A part of her still cared - he was the father of her child, even if he tried to kill her.

She was sure it was for a good reason.. but what?
