Candace fell asleep at about 3 am. And now I couldn't sleep.

When she's asleep she looked a lot like someone I know. But I've been alive/dead/undead for quite some time now, so I cannot point out which one.

I don't know why I couldn't sleep.

Maybe I'm a little bit freaked out because I found out that Candace will be dead if she, we don't find her biological father.

Maybe because I find a sudden urge to protect Candace.

My brother is still with Elena. And they're happy.

I'm with Candace, and we're happy, or on our way to find happiness.

It's a good thing that Candace was able to sleep, after all the revelations she had today.

Now, I couldn't sleep.

I won't watch her sleep, because I'll be like a vampire in one of a vampire movie.

She stirred.

" What? You don't sleep? " she said with her groggy voice.

" I do sleep. But I couldn't. "

" Ever? "

" No, just tonight. I sleep everyday. "

" Oh, that's good to know. "

" Why did you wake up? "

" You thought I slept? "

" It's pretty obvious that you slept. I heard your heartbeat and breathing patterns. "

" No. It was meditating. I couldn't sleep too."

I smiled.

" It's 5 am. Do you wanna walk around the hotel? " I asked

" Why not? "

She opened her lamp and stood up.

I went to the closet and grabbed our coats.

Candace and I went to the café of the hotel.

" Do you think it'll be safe for you to drive without sleep? " she asked

" I don't know. "

" But we will be back in Mystic Falls, alive right? I don't wanna die right away. I mean, I still have hope in finding my real father, so that I won't die again. "

" We'll be travelling back today, right? "

" If it's alright with you. "

" It is. "

" Then, we're going home today. "

We were in the café to get coffee to go, then we sat down the pool deck to watch the dawn.

" Do you ever watch the sun come up? " she asked

" Sometimes. "

" Me too. Sometimes, I don't have a chance to watch it. "

" I could see that you love watching the sun up. "

" I do. For me, it symbolizes a start of something new. "

" A start of something new. "

" It's like, I don't know, if I'm watching it go up, it's like yesterday's pain never happen. All I could think about is happy thoughts. Happy ideas on what could happen today."

" Believe it or not, I've been alive for quite some time now, and I've never thought of it that way. "

She smiled.

" What about sunsets? " I asked

" What about it? "

" What do you think about them? "

" It's the end of the day. "

" It doesn't mean anything to you? "

" Not as much as sunrises. "

She rested her head on my shoulder, and I put my arm on hers. Pulling us closer together.

" The sun is starting to come up. " I said

" We have to start packing soon. "

" I think check out is at 12. "

" We have 6 hours to pack. "

" No, two. When we get back upstairs, we're going to sleep. "

She yawned.

" Oh, sorry. " she said

" It's okay. "

" Do you ever yawn? "

" I don't think so. I don't realize it. "

" Could you fake a yawn? "

" Anybody could fake a yawn. "

" But you're not just anybody. "

" That's true. "

" Cocky, are we? "

" Very. "

She groaned.

And I felt her smile.

I smiled too.

She's got some effect on me.

And it's very strong.

Stronger than of what I felt with Elena.

A lot stronger.

" Do you think we go back upstairs now? " I asked.

" Yes please. "

As soon as she swiped our key card, she immediately crashed in her bed, and I knew she's sleeping.

And I tucked her in.

Do I sleep next to her?

Or sleep on the next bed?

I was thinking about that for about 5 minutes, then I decided to sleep on the next bed.

It was a good thing that she turned, although asleep, facing my bed.

And now, I am staring at her sleeping face.

I think it'll be best to check out tomorrow.

And enjoy each other's company.

Because, when we get back to Mystic Falls, everybody will be there.

And then I drifted off to sleep.
