Chapter 4

(Scarlet’s POV)

I have been walking for hours now. I knew that when mom and dad got home and found I was gone they would go wolf to try and find my scent. Growing up around werewolf’s you figure out a lot of things. Taking in the scenery around me trying to calm my wild heart down I kept walking trying not to look like I was a runaway. Hearing cars and they went bye I heard a one of those big trailer trucks coming I turned and stuck my arm out with my thumb up. But he just kept right on going. “Dam that’s the fifth one today” I said to my wolf.

“Oh my hun you really need a ride soon you’re starting to get sick from not eating” She told me. So I kept on going. About four hours later I saw a truck stop ahead of me. I just kept on going thinking to myself I should just pass this one up when my thoughts were interrupted “Hey lil lady where are you headed to” the driver asked as I walked by his window. I have no idea what in the world made me stop but when I look in the window what I saw made my fear vanish into nothingness. “Any were but here” I told him. “Well darlen I am headed home would you like a ride” he asked me.

“Um ok” I said and got in his truck. As we headed further out of town I finally felt it as we hit the boarder of our lands, when we past it I had felt a weight as we been lifted off my shoulder. Then that’s when the pain hit I felt the my mind link with the pack snap right after black tattoos on my hips started to burn “Sweet heart your bleeding are you ok what’s wrong” my new friend asked. Looking down I saw the blood and then the smoke rolling the top of my shorts down I watched as Blaine, Conner, Dante and Emmet’s names were burned off of my skin.

“Oh my I need to get you to the nearest pack doctor” he told me. I could barely hear him. I was seeing black dots as I passed out I could hear whimpering.

(Driver’s POV)

I don’t know who this child is I thought to myself “but I do” I heard my wolf howl at me. “Well tell me” I demanded “no you will find out in a matter of months” he answered “hey that’s not fair” I yelled back at him. “All you need to do my fried is get her back to our pack don’t stop tell we get there she will be fine she is already healed” my wolf told me. I have never doubted him before now so why would I start now. So I kept us on the road back to Texas.

A couple of hours I started to feel her move around so I lifted her up from my shoulder to lean agents the other window so as not to startle her. “MMM wow what happened and where are we” she asked. “Well we are almost back to my pack and you passed out” I told her. “Oh no” she said shocked looking down I saw what she was looking at. She had four burn marks two on each hip I could just make out some kind of tattoo. “Hey I have seen a were with a tattoo before but never seen one where the were body rejects it I wonder why that happened” I said allowed.

“I already know what happened” she said but went quite after that. Reaching behind me I grabbed a soda “here the sugar will help you fill better” I told her. The rest of the drive was quite.

An hour or so later I turned up the drive way that lead up to the pack house. When I started to see her shake out the corner of my eye. “Hey, hey what’s wrong” I asked her. “I don’t want anyone to see me please” she started to beg. “Ok that’s fine but I still want to doctor to see you” I answered. She nodded her head at me, contacted my brother through our mind link “This had better be good or I will kill you, you are interrupting my play time” He said. Oh joy this is going to be fun “hey I need you to get the pack doctor and bring her to my room please” I tried to say it nicely “what happened are where are you” he asked right away. “I’m fine I’m pulling up to the back door now I don’t want anyone to see me yet” I told him. If he knew I had a girl with me I would never hear the end of it.
