The silent killer

The Silent Killer.

The bullet doesn’t discriminate,

It doesn’t care who it hits,

Young or old,

White or black.

It leaves the gun,

Quickly,

Quietly.

It hits clothing,

Denim, cotton,

Its tears through them,

Like they were paper.

It reaches the skin,

It tears through,

Tearing muscle, arteries,

Causing massive bleeding.

It hits the bones,

It splinters, shatters them,

Pieces of bone fly off,

Hitting other body structures.

The bullet still carries on,

Uncaring,

Unstopping,

Further into the body.

It hits the organs,

Heart, lungs,

Punctures them,

Deflates them.

The bullet now stops,

The victim is suffocating,

Can’t breathe,

The heart has stopped.

The blood is oozing out,

Oozing out of the victim,

The victim is lying on the ground,

In their own pool of blood.

People are trying to save them,

It’s no good,

The victim is past help,

Has died on the pavement,

The cold, hard pavement.

The bullet didn’t care,

It’s done its job,

Its job was to kill,

It has killed.
