Xavier's POV
It pains me to relive what I had just witnessed, the torturing of a young girl. For some reason that's what I have labelled her as, a young girl, since labelling her as anything else would be ... inappropriate. The very thought of her as something other than a 'young girl' makes a dusting of peach appear on my cheeks, since I can easily get lost in imagining all of the things she is.
However, I know that as much as I want to hold my feelings inside, I have to see her again. Whether it be just to ask her whether she is ok or to lay my eyes on her for one last time. I just have to find her.
So, finally giving in to my temptations, I yank a coat from my coat rack and tug the hood over my head, masking my identity as I steal out into the night.Emma's POV
"Calm down. You can do it. Just go out there and tell them!" Luke says as though it is the easiest thing in the world.
"Easy for you to say. You don't have the destruction of an entire race on your shoulders!" I reply, throwing my hands up into the air.
"It's not like they're waiting out there with pitch forks" he mumbles back.
In case you're wondering, I am currently debating with Luke about revealing my secret to my colony. After a very intense discussion, Luke convinced me to stop hiding my lineage and instead embrace it in order to heal our broken race.
"Fine" I mutter" I'll do it."
A proud grin slaps me in the face as it is painted on his.
"Yes! You go girl!" Shouts a voice from behind me.
I turn to find James standing behind me, extending his arms for me to run into. Despite my current decreasing state of mental wellbeing, I waste no time in sprinting over to him. I sink deep into his warm chest as his arms wrap around me.
"I missed you so much!" I murmur in his ear.
He laughs deeply in my ear and kisses the side of my head the way an older brother would kiss his sister. Except, Luke didn't seem to see that since when he asks about James, his voice is filled with an obvious annoyance that as much as he wanted to conceal it, was clearly heard by anyone in the room.
"Who is this, Emma?"
James and I pull away and turn to look at Luke in confusion.
"Oh" I start, looking from James' amused expression to Luke's confused one, "this is James, he is my best friend. He saved me after the um, you know."
Luke's eyebrows shoot upwards in realisation as he looks between the two of us.
"Oh, well um. I'm Luke. I sort of found out about her family and now I'm umm helping her take down the vampires I guess" he replies lamely.
For a moment I imagine James being mad that I let someone find out my secret. However, that moment is very brief.
"Uh finally! I thought you'd never get us out of here!" He replies, looking extremely relieved.
I can't help but laugh at this.
"You sure you're ready to do this though? You're revealing your secret to everyone that you have worked so hard to hide it from" James reminds me, warningly.
"We're not telling the vampires so that's something" Luke points out humorously.
I turn to look at him with an 'are you serious look'. He immediately throws his hands in the air in his own defence. Then James places both hands in my shoulders and twists me back to face him.
