Chapter 7

(KAITLYN'S POV) 

Previously 

 "Since no one esle is voluneering, I will choose names." She informed. 

"Kaitlyn and Max." She said. 

I was staring off into space and didn't even hear her. 

"Kaitlyn." Max said looking at me, I didn't even hear him until he gave me a subtle nudge. "It's our turn." He said flashing a smile, telling me I could do this. 

'Shit' I mouthed. 

Now 

"Kaitlyn. Kaitlyn. Kait." Max shook me 

I perked up hearing 'Kait'. Nobody, nobody, except for my nasty mother call me Kait. Well my dad did, that was until he disappeared out of my life forever. Kaitlyn stop it, get your fat ass up there and sing, damn it. I thought to myself. 

I plastered a smile on my face and stood up walking to the front of the class, to the makeshift stage. I stood on the raised platform facing Max as he stood across from me.  

'You'll be amazing' he mouthed at me. My response was a smile. 

"You are performing..?" Professor McLean said waiting for either Max or me to finish her sentence. 

"Everything Has Changed." I said finishing her sentence. She nodded at us, "whenever you're ready." She said smiling. 

I took a deep breath, the track began, the first measures of accompaniment started playing. 

"All I knew this morning when I woke

Is I know something now, know something now I didn't before

And all I've seen since eighteen hours ago

Is green eyes and freckles and your smile

In the back of my mind making me feel like" I started singing a little shaky.

I looked passed Max at the ground, gradually looking up into his eyes. I smiled between my breaths and sang the next verse of the song. I knew that as soon as Max would join me, I would loosen up. The guitar played a few more chords in the recording. 

"I just want to know you better now 

You better now

I just want to know you

Know you 

Know you 

Cause all I know is we said hello 

And your eyes look like coming home 

All I know is a simple name, 

Everything has changed 

All I know is you held the door 

You'll be mine and I'll be yours 

All I know since yesterday

Is everything has changed." We both sang together, gradually I started holding Max's hands feeling a little more comfortable.

In the back of my mind I was praying I wouldn't have an anxiety attack right there in front of the class. Max kept me calm smiling at me. I knew his solo part was coming up, I could see the nerves in his face.
