I awake.
The smell of nature is ever present, filled with dew and flowers pleasant.
I feel.
Below me the grass is soft and wet with dew.
The light warms my cool, crisp skin.
I listen.
I hear the sounds of birds,
I hear the water flowing.
I hear the sound of my small song,
As all of nature beats with my heart.
I open my eyes.
I look above and all around,
I see the tall, tall, trees up high.
As arms, their branches reach to touch the sky,
They tell me of their dreams and plans
Their desires for the Son of the land.
I stretch my arms up to meet them,
My friends, they won’t leave me alone to greet him.
I sit up.
I see the rabbit munching hurriedly,
He stops and looks at me wonderingly.
I ask him in my mind only: little one are you lonely?
He comes to me and whispers softly: do you know Him?
He ran away before my reply, leaving me in wondering why.
I stand.
I look down upon my body,
draped with white soft linen, long, flowing, clean.
I walk.
The ground is my faithful guide,
I listen faithfully to where I must go.
When will I meet my journeys end?
When will I meet my prince of peace?
I see his light all around me,
I feel his presence, coursing though me.
The answer at last!
I fly.
