Warnings: nope

You sat at the kitchen table of your brand new house staring at the large, orange, and round object in front of you. You chewed the inside of your lip and glanced over at the stencil of a cat you had picked out. You were no artist so this was definitely going to be a challenge. You looked up at your boyfriend Grayson, who sat across from you, already deep in concentration and carving away at his pumpkin. Some Kid Cudi song was playing faintly in the background because he claimed it helped him focus. You scoffed. Such a fanboy.

"What design are you gonna do?" You asked, lifting up the stencil and tracing it out onto your pumpkin with a permanent marker.

"Just wait." Grayson replied back after a long pause. His tongue was poking out and his eyebrows were furrowed. He looked absolutely adorable. Almost like a little kid focusing on some kind of art project. You admired his youth. Truthfully you would've been fine just watching him and not carving a pumpkin at all. You could stare at him forever. You had been dating for four years now and you'd just about been through it all. The ups and downs, before the YouTube fame and after. By now you were both twenty-four and both Grayson and Ethan had stopped making videos a few years prior. The fans were devastated but it was the only way they felt like they could distance themselves before things got out of hand. Ethan had already settled down with his long-time girlfriend, Alexis, and ironically enough, just like he and Grayson had planned when they were seventeen, he lived right next door to you.
You flicked a stray pumpkin seed in Grayson's direction, knocking his attention away only for a moment to flick the seed off his t-shirt.
"Hey." He pouted, glancing up at you before his lips curled into a playful smile which you couldn't help but mirror. You had never seen him this concentrated before. Normally you couldn't get him to sit still even to watch a movie.
"Can I see what you're working on?" You asked. You had to know just what exactly was getting his undivided attention. You moved to get up but Grayson covered his arms over his pumpkin, hugging it tight.

"No!" He shouted. He smiled at you to reassure you he meant well, while you moved back to your seat, hesitantly. You narrowed your eyes.
"Is it a penis?"
"Maybe." Grayson laughed, picking up his knife again. "It's a surprise."

"You're an idiot." You tossed another pumpkin seed at him, laughing, before working away at your stencil again. About thirty more minutes of playful bickering and small talk and you were finally finished your stencil. It looked better than you had thought it would. You looked down at the pumpkin guts on your fingers.

"Yuck. I'm gonna go wash my hands, babe. Do you mind cleaning up the rest?"

Grayson nodded and got up to peck your lips. Before you could get around him, he turned his pumpkin away so that you wouldn't see it on your way to the bathroom. Seriously, what was his deal? You had a good sense of humour. A penis on a pumpkin would've been hilarious if that's actually what he did. You headed down the hallway and washed your hands with some warm water before drying them off on the fluffy cream-coloured towel next to the sink. A towel that was far too expensive for Grayson's liking but he had always been determined to give you whatever you wanted even if he found it a little ridiculous. You went to head back into the kitchen and you were startled to find it was dark, the only glow coming from the pumpkin on the table.

"Lighting your pumpkin already, Gray?" But you couldn't find him in the dark room. You laughed a little, more to yourself than anything, before moving around to finally see what he had carved. Your curiosity was getting the better of you and if he wasn't in the room now was your chance to see before he came back.

Suddenly, the world stood still. Your heart skipped a beat then began hammering in your chest. Your hands flew to cover your mouth.
Carved out in his sloppy handwriting on a glowing pumpkin were the words: "Marry me?"
You turned quickly to search for Grayson in the dark room and gasped to find him down on one knee next to you holding a small blue coloured box in his hand. A signature colour that could only mean one thing. He outstretched his arms towards you, cradling the box in both hands. He said your full name as he opened it to reveal the most gorgeous ring you had ever laid eyes on, above it, stitched in blue, read 'Tiffany's'. It was your dream ring. You had even saved it on your computer in hopes that one day it would be sitting on your finger. Immediately you burst into tears, sobbing uncontrollably.

"You're the love of my life. The one I want to spend every waking moment with. I can't picture myself without you. I can't picture a family with anyone but you. I want to grow old with you and I promise to spend the rest of my days making you the happiest woman on this Earth. Will you marry me?"

You were nodding before you could even register what was happening.

"YES!" You cried as Grayson rose to his feet, tears threatening his own eyes. "YES YES YES!" You threw your arms around his shoulders, smashing your lips against his, your hands tangling in his messy brown hair. He kisssed you back hard, his tongue pushing deep into your mouth.

"I love you so fucking much." You gasped, when you pulled away from the kiss. You were still shaking, your breathing coming out in short huffs.

"I love you too." Grayson whispered in your ear, kissing your hair. He held you tight, only letting go when you had finally calmed down. He leaned away a little to slide the ring across your quivering finger. You stood there for a moment to gawk at it. It shone brightly back at you.

"It's the one I wanted, Gray. To a T." You breathed out.

"I know." He tilted your head, tearing your eyes away from the rock, to gaze at you. "That's why I picked it."

"But this must've c-"

"Stop." He squeezed your hip. "It doesn't matter."

There was not a single doubt in your mind that you had made the best decision of your entire life. You slammed your lips against Grayson's once more, drunk in love, and pulled back to take one good look at the man before you. Your fiancé, Grayson. The love of your life now to be yours - forever.
