The moon holds me hostage
The stars barter for ransom
The tide pulls me in
And the waves shove me out
So close yet so far
Though it's beauty ensnares me
It's always out of reach
For it seems every time
I get close enough to see the craters
My telescope breaks
How is it fair
That the moon holds the power
To entrance
To create beauty
Using the water as its canvas
The moon taunts me
"Can't catch me
But I've caught you"
