"you ready?" I asked while walking into the kitchen to see Emerson on his laptop

He's been like this for the past hour, some "business" thing he needs to handle.

"I'm almost done, hol' up" He said before beginning to type something

We're supposed to be on our way to the boating dock where we're boarding the yacht with Chris' parents. We should of left thirty minutes ago but Emerson claims he can't leave without finishing what he's doing.

"what are you doing anyways?" I asked while pulling up a chair to sit next to him

"deciding what color the studio should be painted. 1616 is too dark, but 1614 is too light, then again 1615 is too boring" He said while looking at three different colors of grey.

"wait so you've been sitting here, for the past hour, looking like you're trying to solve the beals conjecture when all you've been doing is staring at paint swatches? you've got Chris, the most impatient person ever bothering me about when you're gonna be done for this?"

"beals conjecture? and yeah, picking the right color is hard. If I go too light then the walls will allow light to bounce off them helping with the exposure but this can be bad because the subject can get too much exposure. but if I go with a color too dark like 1616 or even black then the light will be absorbed meaning the subject may look darker"

The crazy part to all of this is that he really looks puzzled. Like the decision he makes is going to affect us going to World War III or bring world peace.

"okay how about this, we leave right now to go on the yacht. then you can think about it all night long, so when we come back tomorrow morning your mind will be made up" I suggested

"that won't work, I need to pick a color so the painters can start painting it tomorrow morning. which means Damien has to go get the paint tonight"

I groaned and began to roll my eyes. I turned the laptop to face me then began to look at all three colors he was looking at.

"you have two areas where you take pictures, so one of them should be the light gray and the other should be the dark gray so when ever you need exposure go to the light and when you don't go to the dark. can we leave now?"

"that's actually not a bad idea" He began to think

"I'm gonna go get our stuff, when I come back down the laptop better be closed and you should be ready to leave" I said before standing up
