9. Ajax

Ever since I got the news that my dad escaped, I've been on edge, thinking when he's going to show up; if he's going to show up early or the same time he said he was going to show up. "You alright?" Brandon asked walking into class and sitting right next to me in our last period class. "I'm fine." I said looking at him for a moment and then turning back around. "Turn to page three hundred fifty six." Ms. Hamilton said to us as I started to hear pages turning. I just shook my head, closed my book and laid my head down. I honestly just need to get away and take my mind off of everything and just have fun. My teacher stopped teaching the lesson to pick up the classroom phone. "Mr. Dixon your brother is here to pick you up." He said putting the phone back on it's hook. My brother? I look at Branden and he just shrugs his shoulders. "Ok." I mumbled, packing my stuff up and walking to the office. As I'm walking to the office, I see a person with a head full of curly hair standing there signing me out. The person turns around and it's Zach with a mischievous smirk. I smile at the thought of being with him for the rest of the day.

"What are you doing here?" I asked him. "I'm here to check you out, duh." He whispered in my ear and gave the sign out sheet back to the lady in the office. "Come on lil bro." He said winking at me and we both walked out the school. I sent a quick text to Brandon that Zach was the one who checked me out and he sent back an "OKAY, you better ride him to the sunset with that one." He sent back and I chuckled and turned off my phone. We got in his car and he drove off. "Thank you so much, really. " I said kissing him five times on the cheek. "You're welcome, I figured you needed to get away so I came up with this idea." He said smiling and turning back to the road. I don't even think he watches the road anyway. "I thought you had class today?" I asked grabbing his hand and holding it. "I did, but somebody pulled the fire alarm so we all had to evacuate, then the teacher said that threw his mood off so he let us all go for the day." He said running his thumb over my hand. "Oh......where are we going?" I asked noticing that we were now on the highway. "We are going to...an amusement park." He said pulling off an exit to get onto another highway. "Haha why do you wanna go to an amusement park?" I asked him. "Because I've never been to one." He mumbled to me. "It's okay I've never been to one either, we can experience the hype together." I said smiling. He cracked a smile as we pulled into the parking lot of the amusement park.....

"So Which ride do you wanna go on first: Superman, Batman joker, Goliath—" "ooo let's get on the Goliath. I heard it has a big drop." I said grabbing his hand and dragging him along while he laughed at me being childish. As we were walking, I noticed a light skinned black boy with a couple of other gay friends, I'm assuming, giving me a stank look. I look at him confused but just kept walking, I don't need whatever drama he has to bring. We passed them up as we finally walked up to Goliath, getting in the hour wait line. "Zach, who was that boy that was looking at us all ugly and shit...and don't lie because I know you saw him too." I said giving him the 'don't even try it' look. I exhaled as he began to explain. "That's my ex, Luke. We broke up a while ago before you and I got together, and the other day he came up to me talking about, 'don't You remember what we had' and all that extra shit, and obviously I let him down hard, which is why he's looking at us the way he is." He said looking down. I lifted his head up and pecked him on the lips and I heard a person say 'fucking disgusting' behind us. I turned around and bucked at him, which made him jump hard as fuck and turn around. I roll my eyes and turn back to Zach. "It's fine, it's not your fault he took it the way he did...but just know if he or his weird looking friends comes at me the wrong way, I'm beating their ass and that's that....and you better not stop me either..... at least until I get like five hits in." I said laughing and smiling at him. He chuckled and pulled me into his arms. "Okay...I love you Jax." He said looking at me. "I love you too." I said smiling.

We finally arrived at the top of the line to get onto the roller coaster...in the front seat. We got in the coaster and I started to become nervous. "It's gonna be alright." Zach said trying to calm me down. "Boy you're nervous too, don't try to hide that shaking hand." I said laughing loud at him. The conductor gave us the regular protocol of the safety rules and told us to enjoy our experience. The ride took off as we started to go up the coaster. I looked around at my surroundings and the people on the ground looked like little ants. I look over to Zach who has his eyes shut. "Yo scary a—" I was interrupted by the ride sending us down the big drop and my stomach dropped. I could barely breath. Zach held onto my hand for dear life as we went down the drop and it finally ascended back up and we were able to enjoy our moment on the rest of the ride........
