; IMOGENS POV

i quickly sprung out and wrapped my arms around peter, gasping and pulling away, checking him desperately.

"fuck- are you okay? are you hurt? what happened? what the f-"

"im fine, imogen." peter interrupted, chuckling. how could he be laughing? whatever, that was the least of my worries.

"okay, okay. i was just so fucking worried." i sighed, running a hand through my hair.

"it was one night." he retorted, and i scoffed. "i don't care however long it was. you were.... yeah, i'm sure you know."

peter laughed once again, bringing an arm around my shoulders and gesturing roman to come with as the three of us walked back to the red car.

i got in the back, assuming they probably would need to talk a bit.

roman got on the drivers side and peter got in the passenger.

before roman started the car, he sighed, looking ahead and then at peter.

"why couldn't you.... you know?" roman asked, furrowing his brows.

"i did." peter replied, looking back at him. "they're like me, roman. some are like you. and there's more, they want to... rid of us. all of us. they wanna be the only ones who aren't..." peter stopped, looking at me in the mirror. "mundane." he decided.

they were obviously hiding some shit. "then why were they so interested in imogen?" roman asked, "i really hope it's just some kind of mistake." peter replied stressfully.

"yeah." roman brushed off, pulling out and beginning to speed.

"what the actual fuck are you guys talking about? im right here, you know. i'd like to know what's going on, too." i snapped. "tell you when you're older." peter teased, looking at me and laughing. i even caught a little scoff out of roman. "oh, fuck off." i replied, crossing my arms. "but seriously. im worried, guys." i said again. "you'll be fine. we'll get this figured out." roman decided to respond this time.

; ROMANS POV

"hey, where do you live-" i began, looking at her through the window. "well, she's out." i sighed.

"mine or yours?" peter asked.

"don't think she'll wanna sleep knowing she's at risk of the house rolling away."

"oh, fuck off. when have you ever heard of a trailer home rolling away?"

i laughed, waiting for a decision.

"she hates my couches anyway, one of your fuckin' fifty bedrooms should work." peter decided sarcastically.

i nodded, driving to peters' in silence. after a couple minutes of driving, with some frustrations with the gps, we finally arrived.

when i parked, i sighed, "hey."

he looked at me waiting for a continuation.

"im glad you're alright... and all that shit." i attempted, making him laugh. "thanks, godfrey." he responded, opening my car door and exiting, walking into the familiar place he called home.

it only took a minute to arrive back home. i was glad peter was alright, but something just felt so off. i had so many questions left unanswered for the sake of imogen.

i didn't want to wake her up, but obviously i'd needed to.

i went to the back and opened the door, gently shaking her shoulder. "hey." i whispered, slowly waking her. a small groan left her lips.

"you fell asleep before i could ask you where you lived." i informed softly, making her nod. "c'mon," i told her, helping her out. she yawned and walked up to the house with me, waiting for me to unlock the door.

i guided her upstairs and to the door of the spare bedroom, where she shook her head. "nuh uh. yours." she said sleepily. "oh?" i retorted, making her gently push my chest. "shut... up. it's just comfy..." she argued. i laughed softly and brought her to my bedroom, where she immediately plopped down.

"haven't gotten much sleep?" i asked. "barely any." she responded into the pillow.

it was only around 7:30, but we had been driving all day and none of us had gotten much sleep. only desperate ceiling stares and anxiety.
