~late night group chat 

Josh: ATTENTION! ATTENTION!

lana: josh... it is 3am... do you want to die?

josh: Im immortal

halsey: you have a death wish my friend

sarah: anyways, why did you need our attention at 3am?

josh: I have been informed that my good friends of paramore have decided to throw a birthday surprise party for hayley, and we are all invited.

brendon: at 3am?

tyler: oh jeez

melanie: dah fook

troye: hum no thank you, I need my beauty sleep. My mother didn't raise me to go out at three-fucking-am to party.

josh: iT's aT 10pm TomMoRRoW 

lana: THAN WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU TELLING US THIS AT 3 AM YOU PRUNE

tyler: oh mute button save me from this grief plz

ariana: oh my god josh I will personally invade you and melanie's personal space and slap you myself

josh: jeez ok I'm done goodnight.

jenna: god just shut up

Brendon: YOu sHUt Up hAH

halsey: OH MY GOD ARE YOU AND SARAH REALLY GONNA START PLAYING FALL OUT BOY RIHT NOW I SWEAR TO GOD BOI

tyler: goodnight (stop texting now or your gonna get fucked up)

-the next day, 9:50pm, melanie

I sighed and looked in the mirror, I wanted to look nice since I was meeting josh's friends for the first time.  He seemed really excited for this birthday party, so I was happy. I flattened out the last piece of hair with a straightener then turned it off.

"Hey mel, can I borrow some red lipstick, brendon used mine on his ass for some unknown reason when he was drunk." asked halsey, entering the bathroom.

"sure." I replied handing it to her.

" you look really cute in that dress, I love the colour."

"Really? I thought it was too much." I said doubtfully looking down at myself.

"not at all, where's Josh at?"

"Oh, him and a few others left early to help set up." I said, brushing some more blush onto my left cheek.

"Well you can get a ride with me, jenna, sarah and troye if you want." I smiled at her and thanked her.

the two of us walked back down stairs where we met up with the others. We were the last one's to arrive so we hurried into the car. I sat in the back between sarah and jenna whilst troye and halsey argued over the directions in the front. We all chatted silently as we made our way to the hotel. I talked to them about their weddings, a sparkle in their eye's when each of them gushed over it. I doubted Josh would want to marry me, so I decided to just enjoy the moment and not think about it. After a few minutes, we had arrived at a hotel and were standing in front of the door to the party.

We walked in, being met with music and a lot of different people. I saw tyler and brendon chatting to someone who I recognised as dallon. Jenna and sarah had already met up with  two girls named breezy and Maddie. Troye and ariana had disappeared into the crowd. And I was left alone as a wall flower. I thought about going on my phone, but chose against it since I was trying my best to ignore online attention. Josh and I had decided not to out the relationship just yet, but we were planning on doing so soon. I sighed as I watched the crowd of people in front of me. An arm bumped into mine, revealing a happy halsey with two drinks in her hands. She handed me one filled with what looked like alcohol, but I wasn't a very big drinker.

"Hey, why aren't you enjoying the party?" I looked down at my drink.

"Oh, you don't really know anyone do you?" I shook my head no and looked back up at her.

She grabbed my drink and placed both mine and hers down on a table. She intertwined her arm with mine then yelled over the music.

"I'm gonna help you find Josh ok?!" I nodded and thanked her.

We weaved through the crowd, struggling to move past all the people. Halsey even shoved a few people who didn't move when she asked them to. We decided to take a breather and walking out to the balcony, where it was more quiet. A few seconds later a group of people came out, greeted halsey, then swept her away in a giant wave of dancing people. I looked over the balcony. I thought about the simpler times, back before I knew josh and Tyler and every one else. When I was always at Troye's house and when we first face timed ari. It was all so simple back then.

"Hey, what are doing out here?" asked josh as he leaned next to me on the balcony railing. 

"I don't know anyone. I was with halsey for a while but she left with some random people she knew." i shrugged, It didn't really bother me, I was shy so I was better off alone on the balcony.

"Well, I'll hang out with you till things have died down, then I'll introduce you to some of me and tyler's mutual friends." He smiled.

"Unbelievable." I shook my head.

"What?" He said really confused.

"How did I ever get so lucky?" I smiled, wrapped my arms around his neck.

"Simple, I made a wish on my fifth birthday that the prettiest girl at my school would like me. That didn't happen. So I wished for something better. Then I met you."
