September First 1984
I woke up to a loud grumble, I opened my eyes and stretched out, I turned to my side and came face to belly with what woke me up. I poked at Braxs' stomach trying to wake him up, when that didn't work I wriggled up as close to his face as I could get from under his wing, poked his nose and yelled out his name.
When he squinted his eyes open he must have seen my very unimpressed face and been very confused until it happened again, a loud grumbling coming from his stomach making him look at me sheepishly.
"We better get some food before we go to school", I told him.
He must have agreed with me as he started getting up which allowed me to get up too. It was still early in the morning, the sun wasn't up yet and all the other dragons were still asleep. I knew we would have to leave soon to be able to get to Hogwarts in time.
I walked over to Mumma and Papa while Brax tried to find food, I learnt to leave them to it when it came to hunting, I tended to get in the way. I of course learnt how to catch my own food, only small animals though but I never really had catch my own as Mumma, Papa or Brax always got some for me.
Once I reached Mumma and Papa I sat in between them as it was still very cold. They stirred slightly from the movement, but after recognising my scent they fell back into a deep sleep knowing there was no danger and no need to attack. I was never really afraid of the dragons, I knew they could hurt or even kill me very easily but I just knew they wouldn't on purpose, they were family. A big reason I was going to Hogwarts is so that I could learn to not only protect myself but the dragons. If anything happened to any of them I would be heartbroken.
The sun had started to rise and some dragons had started to wake up when Brax came back with my food - he eats his as he catches it as he eats so much. I walked a bit away from Mumma and Papa so we wouldn't wake them. Brax put my food on the ground and cooked it until it was done, I ate until I was full and then he ate the rest.
"I'm going to miss everyone here while were at school", I spoke quietly to Brax so I didn't wake Mumma and Papa. He huffed in response.
I knew he would only truly miss the company of Mumma and Papa as he wasn't a big fan of being around the other dragons.
I called out to my owl who I had named Drago, he tends to hide in the trees while I'm asleep because while he knows none of the dragons would eat him when while I was awake, he wasnt sure if they would be as kind while I was asleep.
Drago quickly made his way over to me - landing on my shoulder and snuggling into the side of my face, hooting happily while he did.
I leaned against Braxs' belly while quietly talking to him and Drago, once Mumma and Papa woke up we would have to leave as I would be flying to Hogwarts on Brax seeing as he would be staying with me and it would take longer on him than if I took the train that Professor Dumbledore told me about.
Another half an hour of talking later Mumma and Papa started waking up as all the other dragons were awake and weren't being quiet.
They slowly got up and noticed Brax, Drago and me near them, they seemed confused at first, then they realised what today was and started whining as if begging me to stay with them.
I made my way over to them and wrpped my arms around one of their legs, "I promise I'll be back but I need to go and learn how to protect myself and all of you", I said just loud enough for them both to hear.
