hey guys! I just realized that Silencedclan lives in a giant den formed by trees, so there's NO snow in there!

---

Chromepaw woke in the morning to a crisp, snowy day. She yawned and got to her paws. Walking out of the den, she saw Fadingsun sitting by the camp entrance. Chromepaw smiled, and ran over. "Hey Chromepaw." He said. "Hey Fadingsun." She greeted. "Ready for your finale test?" Fadingsun asked willingly. Chromepaw nodded.

Chromepaw stalked through the grass. Each step she took was silent and light, barely making a dent in the snow. A fat, crimson bird sat on a low-lying branch. Chromepaw leaped through the air, pinning down the bird. She killed it before it could let out a squawk. satisfied with her kill, Chromepaw went back to an area under a large evergreen tree and dug up the rest of her prey. It was 3 rabbits, 1 cardinal, and 2 chickadee birds. 6 pieces of prey in total! Proud of her hunting, Chromepaw walked off towards camp. She did not notice, though, the dark shadow in the bushes.

Chromepaw was basically jumping off the den walls. The moon was climbing the sky like a ladder, as if to get a better view of their camp. She was going to be a warrior! She stepped out happily. Suddenly, Scorchedstar the familiar call to the clan. Chromepaw barrelled out of the apprentice den, leaving Flickerpaw to run to catch up.

Once every cat was seated under the tall rock, Scorchedstar began the speech. "Today, two apprentices have completed their final test in hunting." He turned his head to Flamingpelt. "Is Flickerpaw ready to become a warrior?" He asked. Flamingpelt nodded regally, his gaze never wavering. He's squealing on the inside, Chromepaw thought to herself. Scorchedstar turned to Fadingsun. "Is Chromepaw ready to become a warrior?" He asked to Fadingsun. He nodded, and Scorchedstar returned his gaze to the apprentices before him. "Then by the power invested in me by Starclan, until the howling winds of time blow away your existence here, Flickerpaw, your warrior name shall be Flickerflight. Uphold the warrior code at all costs." Scorchedstar rested his tail upon her shoulder respectfully. He then turned his head to Chromepaw. "By the power invested in me by Starclan, until the howling winds of time blow away your very existence here, Chromepaw, your warrior name shall be Chromefaith. Uphold the warrior code at all costs." Scorchedstar laid his tail on her shoulder and the clan yowled their new names.

"Flickerflight! Chromefaith! Flickerflight! Chromefaith!"

Then time seemed to stop as Chromefaith's breath caught in her throat. Chromefaith, that's from the prophecy! Her smile faded as the eerie words echoed in her skull.

"Blood shall stain the ground forever,

The hero in the land called 'never',

Her people cry with pain and sorrow,

Knowing life shall end tomorrow,

Sun and snow will reunite,

To seek a way to the brightest light,

Faith will stand its powerful ground,

Her power sure to greatly astound,

The hottest sun, the blackest snow, and strongest faith and hope."

Chromefaith wobbled on her paws as a wave of nausea flowed through her. How could it be her! Just as she felt as through she'd pass out, the clan moved back to what it was doing. Chromefaith shuffled to the warriors den and leaped inside. The warriors den was a tunnel in the ground. She padded down the dirt and stone ramp to an opening. The cavern's roof was made mostly from dense leaves and twigs. The moonlight that filtered through the pines walls, came through those little holes in the leaves, so she could see all the other warriors sleeping. Chromefaith walked over to a nest in the corner, and fell asleep. A ray of moonlight shone over her, illuminating her soft, fluffy, silver fur. Suddenly, a shadow blacked out the ray. It had begun.
