Chapter 5: The Pavilion
***Percy's POV***
I wake with my head pounding and dark spots in my vision. "Jason," I growled, "I am going to kill you. What time is it? And where am I?"
"He's awake guys, not too happy, but awake."
My friends' concerned faces hover over me. "How are you feeling?" Grover asks.
"Like I was hit with a lightning bolt. Oh wait, I was."
"I'm sorry! We couldn't let you run off and find Annabeth. It would've only hurt you. This seemed like the easiest solution," Jason says, his face still blurry.
"I'm still gonna kill you, just give me a minute to get up and then I'm coming for you." I realize that attempting to stand was probably not the best decision in my condition, but I'm already half up.
"Percy, I wouldn't do that! You aren't strong enough yet!" Nico calls too late, I've already collapsed on the ground.

Again, I wake up with blurry vision and a migraine. "You have got to stop knocking yourself out," I hear Leo say. "It really cannot be good for your health." The room is tilted and spinning as I sit up.
"As I recall, Jason knocked me out the first time."
"Well then you recall wrong. It was definitely you. You're the only one stupid enough to do it."
I drink some nectar and feel well enough to stand again. Slowly putting my feet on the ground, I rest my weight upon them. I'm fine. "What time is it?" I ask.
"It's about 6:00, you've been out for almost a day, Sleeping Beauty. C'mon, get up, it's dinner time."
Getting up, I find that I am in a light blue t-shirt and my boxers. I am pretty sure I was wearing jeans and my camp shirt last night..."Leo... How did I get into these clothes?" Leo has a sneaky grin on his face. "Oh gods! I swear whoever dressed me I am going to murder!"
"Oh don't worry, you won't have to go far to murder anyone since you still can't even walk. It was me, and let me just say, it was not a pleasurable task. You kicked me several times," says Leo, a hurt look on his face.
"Well you deserve it for meddling and also knocking me out several times, now get out, I need to put on some clothes."
"What does it matter! I had to change you already," Leo calls over his shoulder while leaving the room.
"I would like to attempt to keep the shrivel of my dignity that is left, thank you very much."
All I do is pull on some jeans and run out of the cabin toward the pavilion.
***Piper's POV***
I think last night helped. Annabeth seemed to enjoy herself. I mean she didn't look like she hated it, at least. And Hazel and I tried quite hard. Of course Annabeth hasn't forgotten but she promised to stop changing the activity schedule. It's a big step from before when she wouldn't even be in the same room as Percy.
***Annabeth's POV***
Last night was great. I felt like I had no responsibilities, like I could finally relax. Just walk with Hazel and Piper, not worrying about anything. The architecture in New Rome is just fantastic. It felt like the old times, just not with Percy. They made me promise to stop changing the activity schedule, tomorrow I have archery with him. I'm terrified, I'll probably skip it, but I have to get over this sometime. Might as well start with dinner tonight.
***Percy's POV***
She walks into the pavilion, beautiful and confident as always. It hurts how much I love her. Hurts how I can't run to her, wrap my arms around her, and never let her go. And it's my fault. I have said it a million times but it never leaves me.
"Hey. Helloo? Wake up man." Leo waves his hand in front of my face, breaking my stare at Annabeth. "You can't just stare at her. It's pretty creepy and really obvious."
"But I can't stop. My eyes are just drawn to her," I whine searching her out in the crowd. She is nowhere to be seen and not at her table. My hopes crash and I turn back to Leo who is getting into my table. "Whoa! What are you doing?"
"I am sitting down. Is that an issue?"
"Yes! That's forbidden! You have to go back to the Hephaestus table. Right now!"
"Don't bother Percy. Since when do you not break the rules? I think I'll just stay here."
I sigh in defeat and just go back to eating. I don't really care about rules at the moment. All I care about is Annabeth. I need to get her back.
