David's POV:

I wake up in my apartment with a major headache. Last night's events then flash into my mind, it was my 21st birthday and Alex had planned for all the boys to go out and drink. I wasn't a big fan of drinking, especially knowing the harsh consequences that can follow if I become too reliant on it to solve my problems. We all went to a bar down Hollywood Boulevard called Harvey's since it wasnt too far from the apartment and had really good ratings. The boys had been waiting for me to turn 21 ever since I had become the only one in the group who couldn't publically drink.

As we walked into the bar, the smell of alcohol and smoke fills the air. The boys focus their attention on me and push me towards the bar. As I sit down I look around at the people sitting around me. The bar seems to be filled with all middle aged men and one girl sitting between them. Just as I went to get a better look, Alex orders me liquor despite my protests.

When the bar tender brings the bottle Zane pours me a shot. "Your first shot after 21, how you feeling Davey?"

I force a smile and try to sound somewhat excited and confident, "This isn't my first shot Zane, you know that. It's gonna be a peice of cake, just as easy as drinking water."

As he passes me my drink I look at it closely, thinking to myself how one tiny glass of liquor could do so much destruction to a person. In that moment, I promised myself I wouldn't let that happen to me. I would not let alcohol cosume my thoughts and take control of my life and how I affected the lives of other people. I then put the shot glass to my lips and feel its warmth fill my throat.

"Look at Davey letting himself loose!" I hear Dom say from behind the crowd. I look around and see a few of the men in the bar clapping and cheerig me on. "Wow how supportive", I thought to myself. My eyes drifted to the one girl sitting at the bar. She looked lost in thought and I couldn't help but be curious as to what she was thinking.

As the night continued and the drinks kept coming, I found myself occasionally glancing at the girl sitting by herself at the bar. And apparently I was not the only one who noticed this.

Heath who had had a little too much to drink announced to the group, "You guys, I think David here has a little crush! He keeps looking over at the girl sitting a couple seats down from us!"

My heart starts racing, I'm not good at talking to girls and I know damn well that my friends wouldn't be any better, especially if you add alcohol to the equation. I look over to the girl to see if she had heard and thankfully she was still deep in her thoughts as she sipped her margarita.

"What are you talking about? This bar is so small, if I turn my head I'm practically looking at everyone in the room." I'm hoping this will end the conversation but part of me knows, my friends won't let stuff like this go. Especially if it involves a girl.

I hadn't dated since I lost the love of my life Angela about 2 years ago. As she came to my mind, I instantly began thinking of something else. The last thing I need tonight are the questions I never got answers to, popping into my head. I couldn't blame the boys for hitting a soft spot, I hadn't told them about any of this, nor was I planning to. I moved to LA to get away from everything, not to drag it along.

It's Zane's voice that snaps me out of my trance as he yells to Heath who I see is walking towards the girl. "Make sure she keeps it, David is in desperate need of some pus-!"

"Zane!! What do you think you're doing!?" I look over at Heath who is giving the girl a piece of paper with some writing on it. She looks up and everyone points at me. I feel my cheeks turn hot and I am just imagining what they could have possibly written to her.

She then gets up and leave the bar. I have to fight the urge to run after her and apologize for whatever they might have written. A wave of embarassment rushes over me which is then followed by anger.

"What did the note say?!" I look at Zane who could barely speak without stuttering. He can tell by the expression on my face that this was no longer a game.

"I just g-gave her your number, that's all! David I haven't s-seen you try to pick up any girls since you moved here. I'm just trying to help!" He looks as me as if I should be grateful but he doesn't understand. He would never understand.

I get up from the bar, thank the boys for the drinks and a great birthday, and start walking home. "You should tell them, or at least Alex. Maybe then they will understand." My thoughts are quickly drowned out by curiosity. Why did the girl leave so quickly?

And who is she?
