David POV:
As I hang up the phone, a grin stretches across my face. The cute girl from the bar, who's name I now knew was Liza, had actually called me. When I heard her voice my heart fluttered a bit. I don't understand why I was feeling this way but I didn't quite mind it.
We planned on meeting in two hours which gave me enough time to run and buy some things from the store. I get up from my bed, throw on some black jeans and a black shirt and head towards the door. I grab the keys to my car and head towards the grocery store.
On the drive to the store, I suddenly realize that I haven't actually talked to her in person. She may not even know exactly how I look like. "What if she doesn't like me? What if she thinks I'm ugly? Wait... why do I care?" These questions flood my mind until I find myself parking in the parking lot of Ralphs.
I step out of my car and walk towards the entrance of the store. On my checklist was a boquet of flowers, a box of chocolates, and a pack of gum because I was running out.
After my trip to the grocery store I had back home and we can getting ready for our date. Is it a date? I mean we've only known each other for so long, in fact we don't even really know each other. But I mean she seems like a nice girl and maybe that's what I need right now.
Soon enough it's time for our date and I'm expecting Liza to be over at any minute. I sent her the address and she said she would be over soon. Then I hear a knock come from the door, I check my appearance in the mirror by the door and do a quick breath check. I'm not going to lie I looked pretty good. As I'm about to open the door I realized I forgot to grab the flowers off of the counter. I quickly dirt back to the counter and grab them. Another knock is in heard coming from the door as I yell out, "I'm coming!"
As I open the door, I see a small curly headed figure in ripped jeans and a graphic tee with a grin on her face. She wasn't wearing anything fancy because we were just going out to coffee but I thought she looked beautiful.
"You look gorgeous," I said and I saw her start blushing. She looked down at her feet and giggled.
"Why thank you, you don't look too bad yourself. But I must ask, do you wear anything other than black?" She said in a playful tone.
"Well, black does go with everything, so you can never go wrong." I then hand her the flowers and chocolates. "These are for you, but these flowers could never be as pretty as you." I said this confidently as if I am able to sweet talk any girl that comes my way, when in reality I had not talked to many girls for about two years. Ever since-
"Thank you Dave," she says, interrupting my train of thought, "now should we start heading out?"
"Of course," I grab my keys and close the door behind us as we head to my car. As she walked passed me I realized she smelled like roses. I had always hated rose scented perfume, that is, until today.
I had a white tesla that drew stares from most people. I don't blame them, if I saw a 21 year old with such an expensive car I'd wonder how he got it too.
"Wow, this is yours?" She asks with curiousity. I show off a bit by making the wings go up. "Yeah, she's mine." We get into the car and immediately, her perfume fills the car. It was a good amount without coming off as too strong. We head over to the coffee shop and altough it was silent for a good protion of the drive. It was a comfortable silence, like nothing was being forced. And the whole drive I could only think of one thing:
What is she thinking of?
