The Collège Françoise Dupont

"Iris! Get up! Mom got breakfast!" Damien yelled from downstairs. I sat up in my bed up in the loft. I looked at the clock and it read 7:30am. My eyes widened when I realized what time it was. Every year, school starts at 7:30. I quickly got dressed in my purple T-shirt, black skinny jeans, combat boots, my black and white striped fingerless gloves, black beanie, my black choker, and my Yui necklace from the anime Sword Art Online. I brushed my hair, grabbed my things and ran downstairs.

"Why didnt you wake me up earlier! Now Im late for school!" I yelled as I started running downstairs.

"Iris, what are you talking about? School doesnt start until 8:45." My mom said as I made it to the second floor. I stopped and stared at her with confusion written all over my face. I looked around and saw all of my siblings sitting at the kitchen able, trying to hold back their laughter.

"School started at 7:30 in America, but in Paris, schools start at 8:45 Iris." I felt my face start to turn red. Well this was embarrassing, my first day of school is already terrible and I havent even left the house yet.

"Its alright my little honeysuckle. Youre just not used to it, anyways, I picked up a couple things from the bakery next door for breakfast. So, try to smile." My mom said sweetly. A small smile appeared on my face as I walked over to the bag of pastries. The bag read "Tom & Sabine Boulangerie Patisserie". Ive been meaning to go next door and try it out, but I never got the chance to. I opened the bag and frowned, there was only half a croissant left. I turned to my siblings who were happily eating the baked goods that I assume were in the bag.

"Did you guys seriously only leave half a croissant for me?" I asked angrily. They all started laughing, which made angrier than I already was.

"Guys I told you to save her some." My mom said.

"We did we saved her SOME." Justin said with his devilish grin. I let out an annoyed sigh.

"You know I meant more than just half croissant! Iris, take this and you can go get whatever you want from the bakery." My mom said as she handed me some money. I smiled and gave my mom a hug. I went downstairs and set my backpack next to the front door. I left my house and walked over the bakery. Its kind of convenient that we live right next to a bakery. The bakery had black windows with gold lettering and the store logo, which was a T and an S with two wheat stalks circling it. I walked in and a little bell chimed with the door. About a minute later, a short Asian woman appeared from behind a display case. She had navy blue hair and grey eyes.

"Hello there, welcome to Tom & Sabine Boulangerie Patisserie. Im Sabine and if theres anything you need just let me know." She said with a smile. I smiled in return and started looking around. There so many different kinds of breads and pastries. There were crepes, croissants, eclairs, fraisiers, macarons, and many more delicious looking treats. Heres a little fun fact, I absolutely LOVE pastries! And when my mom said, "You can go get whatever you want from the bakery." I fully intend to do so. My mom gave me 10, so I will use as much of it as I can. I looked around for a bit, trying to decide which one of these lovely gifts from heaven I should get. Eventually, I decided to get three chocolate eclairs and three caramel eclairs. What can I say? Eclairs are my favorite pastry of all time.

"Did you find everything okay?" Sabine asked as I walked up to the cash register with my lovely eclairs. "Yes, thank you. Everything looks so good." I said, Sabine smiled. "So, are you going to the Collége Françoise Dupont? I ask cause look about my daughters age." I nodded. "Yeah, its my first year there." As she began ringing me up, a voice came from the back.

"Good morning mama!" A girl with dark blue pigtails and pink jeans appeared from behind Sabine. She had bright and happy blue eyes and a big smile on her face. "Good morning Marinette. Are you ready for school?" The girl named Marinette smiled and nodded. "Oh, Marinette, it's this girls first year. Maybe you show her around a bit?" Marinette looked at me and smiled.

"Hi, I'm Marinette." She said happily, "Um, Im Iris." I said as I paid for my eclairs. Marinette seemed really nice, she was happy and it seemed to have lightened my mood from the whole "half croissant issue".

"So, who's your teacher?" Marinette asked. "Im in Ms. Bustiers class, what about you?". She smiled even more and said, "Im in Ms. Bustiers class too. I was in her class last year, I think you're gonna like her. She's really nice." Sabine handed me my eclairs and I thanked her.

"Hey Iris, do you want to walk to school together?" Marinette asked. I smiled and handed her one of my eclairs.

"Yeah, sure. I just need to go home and grab my bag. Wanna come with? Its literally right next door." She nodded and we walked back to my house. When I opened the door, I heard Riley coming down the stairs. "Iris? What did you get from the bakery?" I quickly grabbed my bag from the foyer and rushed back out so she wouldnt try to steal my lovely eclairs. When I got back outside, Marinette and I started heading to school.

"Who was that?" Marinette asked. "Oh, it was my sister. She wanted to know what I got from your bakery, but if I told her, she wouldve stolen it." I said as I clutched my bag of eclairs. Marinette chuckled.

"Yeah, I know how that feels, I have a twin brother and he does the same thing. Whats your sisters name?"

"Her names Riley, and I have two older brothers, Justin and Damien. What about your brother? And if you guys are twins, then why isnt he here?"

"His names Marin, he doesnt come to school very often. In fact, he very rarely leaves the house for that matter." Marinette and I continued to talk about our families till we got to the front of the school.

"Hey girl! Hows it going? Whos this?" Said a familiar looking girl. I remembered seeing that auburn hair and black thick framed glasses at the airport when I first arrived in Paris.

"Hi Alya! This is Iris, she just moved in next door from America. Iris, this is my best friend Alya." Marinette said happily. "Wait, you look familiar. Have we met before?" Alya asked as she looked me up and down.

"I could be wrong, but I think we met very briefly at the airport a few weeks ago." I said. She thought for a second longer then her eyes lit up. "Oh yeah! I remember, youre the girl I was shoved into, sorry about that by the way. Well, its nice to meet you Iris." Alya, Marinette, and I all talked for a while before school started and turns out we all have a few things in common. And we all have Ms. Bustiers class, so now the anxiety of not having friends in my class was gone. The bell rang and the three of us started heading to class. When we entered the classroom, I noticed that all the desks were of groups of two. So, I followed Marinette and Alya to the second row and I sat behind Marinette. As time passed, more and more students filed into the classroom.

"Hey Marinette, do you know if Adrien is this class this year?" Alya asked. Marinette lit up and started blushing. "I hope so! I would love to spend another year in the same class as Adrien!" She squealed. I recognized the name Adrien.

"Are you guys talking about Adrien Agreste?" I asked out of curiosity. Marinette turned to me and nodded happily. "Ive met him, he was a pretty nice guy. It would be nice if he was in this class, I mean, the more people I know in class the better. right?" Marinette, Alya, and I continued chatting happily till class started.
