Everyone had quickly grown stressed over the fact that Nagito had suggested that you all should give up and die.
"Suspecting each other like this... There's no way that's healthy behaviour. Let's stop this already! We don't have to find out who the killer is! I can't stand this anymore! I don't want to do this to my friends!" Nagito tells you all.
"I...I don't want to do this either..."
"M-Me too! Please... Take me home already!"
"Waaaaaaah! I wanna go home and eat candy!"
The atmosphere had went from stressful to everyone but you and Hajime to stressful for only you and Hajime as everyone whined about now they wanted to go home.
"G-Guys! Calm down!" You shout out, no one listened.
"We're all friends...aren't we? There's no way one friend would murder another..." Nagito continues to ramble on.
"Then why did Byakuya die!?" Hajime demands answers.
"Who cares...? Let's just give up already... There are no clues that lead to the killer anyway... Not a single one..." Nagito shrugs.
"That's wrong!... I think." Chiaki shouts, holding her hand out, your eyes lit up when you realised that you and Hajime weren't the only currently sane ones in the trial room.
"...Did you say something?" Nagito asks Chiaki, not totally paying attention.
"Don't exclude Chiaki out of the conversation." You scold him, he shrugs like a grumpy teenager.
"'Cause...we've already found a clue that might point to who the killer is." Chiaki begins.
"A clue, you say?" Gundham questions.
"You know who the killer is?" Akane asks, shocked.
"The killer? I dunno... But we do have a clue about a suspicious person... I think." Chiaki says, not sounding nervous with her tone in voice, but the words she choose.
"I see... Then care to tell me? What's this clue you're talking about?" Nagito encourages her to answer quickly.
"First of all, let's try thinking about how the killer was able to obtain the knife during the blackout." Chiaki starts.
"Didn't we already cover that? They used glowing paint as a mark." Nagito says defensively.
"She means how they got to the knife." You decided to chime in.
"Let's try examining the situation... Mahiru's diagram might be useful here." Hajime gets Mahiru's attention, she hands him a diagram she drew of where everyone was standing before the blackout, Hajime passed it around for everyone to see.
When Mikan passed you the diagram, you stared for a few minutes, then you looked up at Nagito, then back down at the diagram. You noticed that Mahiru added in the cord that was connected to the desk lamp on top of the table, you also noticed that Nagito was closest to the cord, then Hajime, then you, then Hiyoko.
You almost jumped with excitement, finally having enough evidence to pin the murder on someone, Hajime points out that the killer would of navigated their way to the table using the power cord.
"They could've felt their way to that table using the power cord, right? By doing that, the killer was able to move to the table, then used the glowing paint to find the knife." Hajime suggests, you were practically jumping out of your podium.
