You all stared in shock as the boy with the ahoge lay head first in the sand.

"... Is he alright?" Someone finally speaks up, you all shrug.

"Is he dead?" You ask, kneeling down and poking his arm, a girl with bandages around her arms and legs kneels down beside you and starts examining the boy.

"He's not dead... H-He just seems unconscious..." She confirms, you nod, standing up.

"Well... I'm gonna explore." The girl wearing an orange kimono and her hair in pigtails shrugs and begins to walk off.

"We can't just leave him here, can we?" You ask, looking down at the boy with concern, the white haired boy nods in agreement.

"Fine, you two can stay with him!" The small girl points at you, then the white haired boy, you furrow your eyebrows as the rest of the group shrug and follow the small girl, leaving you and the white haired boy to look after a potentially dead boy.

"Should we try and wake him up?" The white haired boy asks you, not knowing what to do in this situation, he had never been left to look after an unconscious boy with a stranger before.

"... No." You state, the white haired boys eyes widen.

"Well, if we're not going to wake him up, we might as well introduce ourselves." He says as he makes his way over to a nearby palm tree, you follow him.

"I'm {Y/N} {S/N}, Ultimate Podcaster." You give the white haired boy a warm smile, he returns it.

"I thought I recognised your voice from somewhere... I'm Nagito Komaeda." He greets, you nod as you keep repeating his name in your head.

"If you don't mind me asking... What's your talent?" You were curious, you wanted to know everything about everyone, but you had to start it off simple.

"Oh, me? My talents pretty disappointing..." Nagito sighs, you furrow your eyebrows.

"What do you mean?" You question, Nagito takes a deep breath in.

"I'm lucky." He states, he seemed happier now that he got that off his chest.

"Ah, you're the lucky student? So you won the lottery thing the school does?" Though many people would of been confused or bored by Nagito Komaeda's talent, you found it fascinating that Hopes Peak Academy held a lottery for anyone and everyone in Japan just for one random student to get picked.

"Yeah, I didn't expect you to know about it, lots of people here didn't when I told them." Nagito chuckles, almost sadly.

You didn't really consider luck a talent, but still, you liked Nagito Komaeda.

"By the way, I looked up most people before coming to Hope's Peak, so maybe we can go and introduce you to everyone once he wakes up." Nagito suggests, you nod enthusiastically.

"That sounds great! Then you'll be able to tell me about everyone!" You grin widely, Nagito laughs and leans to the side to get a look at the boy lying in the sand.

"Now should we try and wake him up...?" Nagito asks cautiously, scared incase you we about to shut him down again.

"... I suppose." You shrug, turning around and making your way over to the boy, Nagito quickly follows you, he turns the boy around.

"Hey... Can you hear me...?" He asks, the boy slowly opens his eyes, squinting them when he sees Nagito looming over him.

"Are you alright?" You but into whatever was happening, the boy didn't reply.

"You seem pretty out of it... Everyone else feels the same." Nagito tells the boy, assuring him that passing out was totally normal.

The boy seemed to ignore you and Nagito, and stares up at the sky.

"Hey, are you even listening?" You complain, the boy stands up, brushing the sand off of his shirt.

"Are you sure you're alright?" Nagito questions the boy, but he shoots Nagito a glare.

"... Leave me alone." He furrows his eyebrows.

"Well, we might as well, Nagito. Let's-" You were about to walk away and take Nagito with you, but Nagito continues talking to the boy with the ahoge.

"Th... There's no way I can leave someone alone when they look that pale..." Nagito had a serious look of concern on his face. The boy takes a few steps back from you and Nagito and begins to look around, inspecting the sea, a certain palm tree, and a camera. You groaned, petty over the fact that the boy with the ahoge had told both you and Nagito to leave him alone, you understood that he might of wanted to be alone for a bit, but the way he said it was just so rude.

"Hm. Is that a camera...?" The boy asks, squinting his eyes at the obvious surveillance camera in front of him.

"Are we...being monitored or something!?" He stumbles back.

"I wouldn't say we're being monitored... I think we're just being watched for our safety..." Nagito makes an attempt to calm the boy down, but it causes the boy to think more.

"You know, it's a waste of time to think about it, you shouldn't worry!" You quickly jump on and save the day, the boy furrows his eyebrows, but nods.

The boy takes a moment to look at you and Nagito, and to quickly look around again, making sure he's checked everything.

"Have you calmed down now?" Nagito approaches the boy with caution, the boy doesn't reply.

"We understand your confusion after all of this, because we're just as confused as you are... But, why don't we start with an introduction?" You ask awkwardly, the boy takes a deep breath in and sighs.

"... I'm Nagito Komaeda. Nice to meet you." Nagito starts, he grins.

"I'm Hajime Hinata." The boy, Hajime give a small wave. You nod and wave back.

"I'm {Y/N} {S/N}, I'm the Ultimate Podcaster!" You greet happily, which was the opposite of how you were wanting to greet him, Nagito suddenly looks up, realising that he forgot to mention his "talent" to Hajime.

He starts explaining how he won the lottery hosted by Hope's Peak Academy and how disappointing his talent was, it was almost identical to what he had said to you. It was starting to bore you.

"So! Hajime, what's your talent?" As soon as Nagito took a moment out of his talent speech, you jumped in to change the topic.

"Wait! I haven't finished explaining my talent to Hajime yet!" Nagito whined, your eyes roll to the back of your head as Nagito starts talking again.

"At first...I declined. I told them I didn't deserve it. But they told me they really wanted me to attend... Apparently this so-called luck of mine is a talent that even the school doesn't fully understand..." Nagito explains, though he continues explaining the lottery to Hajime, you start thinking about luck. What was so special about it? What was so hard to understand about someone winning a lottery and being deemed "lucky".

You didn't understand it yourself.
