On the Edge

Legs dangling off a cliff, man seeing vast world before him

Here he appreciates his smallness, realizing true life to be found on the edge (though not teetering)

Smoke in his face, though he lets not it into his lungs, as he

Patiently tends his fire, looking thoughtfully for all resources

Here man appreciates what it takes to get mere warmth, a classic thing taken for granted

He swims alone in waters, thinking, There's no one here.

It all functions without man operating the machine.

He sees initial, original beauty, from which all other beauty came

And he paddles onward, or hikes onward, but no matter the means, he always goes onward

Not to progress but to explore

What an amazing opportunity
