I was

Walking

On the

Median

Of the

Highway

Why was I doing this?

Was it because...

I desired to become closer to nature?

All that's left untouched, so pure

As industry and steel have for so long won the day

Is man more happy? Who am I to say?

Was it because...

Of rather no reason at all?

Progress! Progress! Progress!—has not been my call

Hearing instead the urge to explore sheerly for the sake of exploring

I pace onward thinking of the fundamental mysteries of life

That after so many tireless and "progress" filled years

Man has left unsolved

Thus the median and the beautiful mysteries are all that remains unchanged

As...

On the

Median

Of the

Highway

Walking

I was.
