The Propagandist's Manifesto

Here are the methods with which you

keep the public at bay

developed most specifically for

the 21st century.

First you must  surround them

with an infinite array of accessible distractions

all pleasurable in nature

all seducing them from action.

This will slow them down

and act as their opiate

One fire to kill them down

but hold on, there's a plethora more fires to be lit.

You must fit

for the people-each of them

a grand fantasy

high above

gold and shiny.

It must be far enough that it's not graspable, unattainable

yet close enough in reach

to where it can be touched, seeming possible

Give this to them and they'll lurch perpetually towards it for the rest of their lives.

However, if to our dismay and disarray

they figure these dreams silly before the end of the day

of their lives

you must have an immediate replacement

to ship in

that fits in the same compartment

in which the first dream resided.

You must do this to yield perpetual excitement

and unending devotion to what they think their goals require.

That could be the products or programs we allow them to acquire

off which we become rich.

Let's now ditch

the generalities of our project

and move onto

the particularities of our endeavor.

Our chief end is not in

reality, but rather strictly in images.

The hope that comes in the attachment

people latch onto their dreams

must supersede the dreams themselves.

And dependence to these dreams must never wean

unless they be promptly replaced.

So now that we're faced

with the two grand pillars:

arbitrary hope and the dependence that comes there on

and the distraction to which they cling on

let us now examine

the main tenets which now are to remain:

There's fear and division

and values established firmly, immune to revision

yet only in the public image

(the words of ministers, politicians and leaders)

as we instill a backdrop of complete chaos

hypocrisy, values lost

(This through their entertainment and the incessant

funneling of scandal and betrayal into their mental feed.)

that protrudes into the subconscious of the people

haunting them daily with booming nihilism

thence making them cling even tighter to their particular -isms

thus rendering even more division.

For division is what we fear

Given that we endear

them when they allow us to be in control.

For when they live and love one another

they can live and love without us.

Yet when they fight and cheat and starve each other

in us they trust.

Thus we must

enforce strictly this code of propaganda

of hope in abstract and unreal things

of perpetual distraction

of continual dissatisfaction

with their institutions.

for which we must seem to provide restitution

with one after another rebel brash and brave

trying to overthrow the corruption

secretly the same.

We must keep people isolated

in their groups one and each

making it appear that the others desire intently to hurt them

their whole ways of life besieged.

Yes, we must never do any of this in force

This all the people's own choices

done with none whatsoever remorse.

They must love their servitude.

We must make them addicted

to the continual consumption of dissatisfaction and hate

lurching without end at objectives so great

in nothing but utter vain

as they go about their ways

giving and giving to us until the very end.

With this message, thee  I send

to make the world your own

the people I lend

For the people become what they see and hear

Just equate what they hate with what they endear

And their hate will last longer

And our control will grow stronger

I now charge you with the propagandist's manifesto

Take it and implement it. Presto!

For it must come fast and perpetually; wash any original thought down the sink.

For don't you dare...

Don't ever!

allow any of them to think.
