"Modesty is the best jewel of a woman" ~Fatima al- Zahra bint Muhammad
Assalamu Alaykum everyone, and welcome back to a new update! We hope you guys are in the best health and Iman!
Ok guys, the real reason we decided to write this chapter is because the world is getting worse, let's face it. We live in a world that objectifies women, and the very idea of modesty is frowned upon. Like being modest is ugly or un-welcoming. And how do us Muslim women respond? Most of us, sadly, decide to follow social norms, and that's the sad reason why most of our sisters in Islam aren't wearing the hijab (well, one of the reasons). Did we forget that the women (and men) whom Allah loved the most, were modest in how they behaved and dressed? Therefore, we decided to remind you guys of some of the best people to walk Earth, who exemplified perfect modesty!
This chapter is our favorite, and we hope you guys enjoy it, just as much as we enjoyed writing it!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fatima bint Muhammad, the beloved daughter of our Rasul, (SAW), was the best example of modesty. From a young age, she was attached to her father. Her attachment to her father was so strong, that the Sahaba used to say about Fatima, the "Mother of her Father". SubhanAllah! How beautiful is this relationship! It was also said she was the only child that closely resembled her father in looks. Aisha (radiAllahuanha), the wife of the Prophet (SAW) once said, that there was no one who resembled the Prophet (SAW) in character and behavior, better than Fatima (radiAllahuanha). She was also the only child left to live with the Prophet (SAW) until his death. All of the other children passed before their father, but Fatima (radiAllahuanha) lived a few more months after her fathers death.
---------------------------------------------
Fatima (radiAllahuanha) was told by her father once that she will be the "Queen of All of the women in Jannah", because of how well she perfected her deen and faith. SubhanAllah, and although her title in the hereafter will be of highest honor, in this world, she lived humbly, and a life full of modesty, one of the characteristics she developed from her father (SAW). One thing she always followed was that, a life eternally in Jannah, is not worth sacrificing for a fleeting moment in this temporary life.
---------------------------------------------
Fatima(radiAllahuanha) did something amazing before her death. When she sensed that her time was very near, she consulted with another great woman by the name of Asma bint Umays. She says to Asma, "When you bathe my body after I'm gone and you perform my ghusl, do it at night, so that no one will see my figure. And when you're performing my janaza (funeral) also do that in the middle of the night, so that no one will see me". Allahu Akbar! She is still trying to maintain her modesty, even after her soul leaves her body. This definitely describes the daughter of the most modest, the Prophet Muhammad, (SAW).
------------------------------------------------
"Every religion has a character and the character of Islam is modesty." (Muwatta)
"Shall I tell you about the inhabitants of Paradise? They are all modest persons." "Shall I tell you about the inhabitants of Hell? They are all ignoble, rude and proud ones." (Bukhari)
"Faith (Belief) consists of more than sixty branches (i.e. parts) And Haya is a part of faith." (Bukhari)
These are sahih (authentic, sound) hadiths that pertain to modesty(also called haya) and bashfulness.
**REMEMBER!- modesty is in what we wear AND how we act. We can't just cover, yet be loud and rude and obnoxious. Your character defines you, please remember that. **
We could go on and on and on about modesty and tell you guys many stories on this subject, but we wanted to highlight someone really beautiful in our religion, that we could all learn from (men and women, girls and boys). We pray to Allah (SWT) to help us in this concept and to give us Jannah. May Allah reward us all for our efforts and bless you all !<3
Any errors were from me and shaytaan and anything that benefits you and is good, is from Allah SWT. May Allah guide us all!
