Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal at the time of his life, was very famous in the Muslim Ummah. His love for Allah (SWT) and the Prophet (SAW) was so great that he dedicated his entire life into studying the religion and writing many commentaries on Hadith. But with all this, he was a very humble man. Whenever he would travel, he would have a cloth wrapping his face so people wouldn't notice him. One day, he was traveling to Ash-Sham (Syria) and it was getting late at night so he went to rest in a Masjid (mosque). The Masjid's  guard came up to him and told him to get out and that the Masjid was closing. Then Imam Ahmad, having no where to go, goes to sleep on the Masjid steps. The guard comes out again, and not knowing who he's messing with, kicked Imam Ahmad out onto the street.

There was a bakery not far from the Masjid, and so the baker who sees Imam Ahmed in this condition, calls him in and allows him to sleep at the bakery for the night.  The whole night, Imam Ahmad was observing him doing his work making bread, all the while the baker was saying "SubhanAllah, Alhamdulilah, La Ilaaha Ilalah, Allahu Akbar". He kept on repeating this. So the Imam gets curious and asks, "How long have you been in this situation?" "What situation, making tasbeeh to Allah (swt)? He says "My whole life, this is what I do." Imam Ahmad then asks "What have you seen in result of you making all that tasbeeh?" And the baker replies, "I never made dua to Allah except that he answers it" Imam Ahmad says "SubhanAllah" The baker repeats, " I never made dua to Allah except that he gave it to me" He said, "Except for one thing". Imam Ahmad asks, "What is that one thing?" He replies, "To have a chance to see Imam Ahmad"

SUBHAN'ALLAH! Imagine how Imam Ahmad felt. He was in tears by then, and he embraced the baker, assuring him that his dua that he hasn't seen for a long time, is finally in front of him...Allah answered ALL  the baker's duas!

Moral of the story?

With Allah (SWT) nothing is impossible. Whenever you make dua to Allah for anything, whether that be big or small, nothing is bothersome to Allah, so never hesitate to ask, never.

And always be consistent, for indeed...The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "Take up good deeds only as much as you are able, for the best deeds are those done regularly even if they are few."

Always make the same Duas and never get tired, because in sha Allah, like Allah promises, He will give whatever that is to you, some day. This can be about an illness you have for Allah to relieve you from, or a financial issue you have, or getting accepted into a school/university/program/career that you really desire, or the fact that you want Allah to increase your knowledge of the deen and get you close to it, or to strengthen your relationships with your spouse, parents, or siblings. My point is, whatever it is, Allah is greater than that issue, so no one but Him can fix it. Allah is waiting for you to raise your hands and ask, so why won't you?
