One day, I was having a smoke and taking a walk in the crisp, fresh air. I hummed some of my favorite songs, challenging myself to remember every note in them particular songs. I stared at the ground, kicking the small pebbles that were in my way. I always went on walks. The air was clean, and it felt good to get out of the house. Being alone was better than being with my parents.
I heard the sound of a car door slam behind me and I gulped. I knew that sound far too well. I looked away from the ground, and I didn't recognize where I was. I must have walked further than I thought. I looked back and saw a fancy car with three older looking boys coming out of it. I'm only a sophomore, these guys looked like seniors.
"Little out of your turf, aintcha grease? Whatcha doing all by your lonesome?" One said coldly as he swung his door closed.
"I'm sorry," I muttered. "I didn't know."
"Aw, was it a mistake?" He said with a false sense of sincerity.
I nodded my head vigorously.
"If you made a mistake, then you oughta be taught a lesson." He smiled and licked his teeth maliciously.
"I think I've already learned it." I said, putting my hands in my pockets and trying to get past them. The main one grabbed my jean jacket to stop me from moving.
"What's wrong, little Greaser?" He hissed. "You gonna run on home?"
"That's the plan." I answered.
"No one comes on our turf and gets away with it." He smirked and snapped his fingers.
Another Soc behind him handed him a metal rectangle. The Soc flicked the blade out and spun it in his fingers.
"I'll give you a thirty second head start." He let go my my jacket and pushed me away. "30-29-28-27..." he started counting. My heart started to pound a little harder and my palms started sweating. I bolted down the street, listening to him count from behind me.
I didn't think that thirty seconds was long, but I started seeing things I recognized. The post office, the gas station, everything. I smiled with relief, that I managed to get away from those bone heads.
I looked back and saw them approaching me by car.
What the hell? I thought. I was back on my turf, they can't get me here.
They weren't stopping. I got another boost of energy and I dashed to the nearby park. Maybe I could hide in a slide or something. There was nowhere else I could go.
I crawled up an enclosed slide and waited. I heard the engine get turned off and the Socs walking around the rocks of the park. My breathing sounded loud in the slide, so I covered my mouth so they couldn't hear my echoing breath.
"Where did she go?" I heard one ask.
"I don't know." Another said. "Did she run that way?"
"I didn't see."
"Godammit, Frank." The main one said.
I heard them bicker together and I thought I was safe. I uncovered my mouth and looked up to the platform where most kids start their journey down the slide. I saw one of the Socs looking down at me with the most sinister look on his face, squatting so he could peer into the hole.
"Gotcha." He nearly whispered. I screamed and the rest of the guys came over to the slide. He tried to grab me but I slipped down the slide and landed at their feet. I tried to scurry away but the big one grabbed me and held me up above the ground.
"You tried to run away." He snickered, shaking me. "That was just adorable."
"Let me go." I begged. "It was an accident. I didn't do nothing wrong."
"Because you tried to hide from us," he flicked the pocketknife out again. "We'll make this slow."
One covered my mouth as the main Soc slide his blade up and down my face. I tried to scream, bite, and even lick the guy's hand but it wasn't moving. My face felt like it was full of paper cuts that stung when the cold air hit them.
There was a quick slash over my eyebrow and so felt a raindrop go down my face. Oh wait, it wasn't raining. It was blood. It trickled down until it pooled at the Socs hand.
They moved my shirt up to expose my stomach. I'm extremely self conscious, and I think they sensed that when I tensed.
"Here is one, two, three for coming onto our turf." He made three slashmarks through the skin on my belly. I tried to yelp in pain but nothing came out. He cut the rest of my shirt off and dragged the blade along my collar bone, and my jawline. I bit my lips together to keep myself from crying. Tears formed in my eyes and trickled down my cheeks. I started to fight back, by kicking and slashing around, and they just gripped me tighter and forced me to the ground. The Soc punched me a couple times in my stomach and cheek to calm me down. I eventually stopped fighting and settled down. I started breathing heavily, to keep myself from shaking.
"Move your hand, Frank." The Soc ordered.
Frank moved his hand from my mouth.
"Why are you doing this?" I blurted out. I usually wouldn't try to stand up for myself, I'm just too shy. But, I was going into panic mode.
"Why are you sad?" The Soc cocked his eyebrow. "Maybe a smile will cheer her up."
"Like a real smile, Chester?" Frank asked.
"Frank, shut up." Chester rolled his eyes. The unknown Soc chuckled.
"A smile like the Joker." He cackled.
"No, no, no." I shook my head. "Please no."
"Keep the little greases mouth open, will you, Frank?" Chester ordered.
Franks grubby sausage fingers were in my mouth before I could even swallow the saliva that pooled in my mouth. He forced my jaw open and Chester started placing the blade in the corner of my lips.
"Hey!" I heard someone scream. All four of us looked alarmed, looking at each other, then to the source of the noise. The unknown Soc ran off while Frank tried to fight the five new boys who were running toward us. Chester grabbed my arms and started dragging me away. I struggled by giving him dead weight or fighting him. He clocked me a few more times before some of the rescuers came to my assistance. By then, blackness surrounded me and I was out cold.

I feel like this story is going to be a little shorter and a different writing style from the ones I usually write.
