Taisiya's POV
It had been 6 months since I first appeared in the Hunter X Hunter world and started travelling with Kite and Ikki. It took time but I eventually got used to travelling around with the two without staying in one place for a long time. Since we all resembled each other, it was easy for people to believe we were all relatives.
Although I hadn't completely mastered Japanese, I was well enough into the language to be able to speak to Kite about everyday needs without needing Ikki to translate everything we say.
After knowing Kite for a few months, I realized despite Kite's silent persona, he was very caring in the background and would always silently help when I was in trouble. Kite had also been very patient about my learning and always answered any questions I had about the language. It didn't take much time to get used to his lone-wolf vibes.
On the other hand, Ikki was very helpful and inclusive. We had gotten really close to each other like siblings. We would talk to each other in Russian when we didn't want Kite to know what we were talking about. This usually involved us chatting about Kite behind his back.
At the time, Ikki, Kite, and I were staying in the village of Mangoru, a small village near the city of New Vegas. Ikki and I were staying in the room we rented while Kite went to get more information.
"Ne, Ikki?" I called out to Ikki when I spotted something familiar laying on one of the beds through the mirror.
"Yes?" The 8-year-old boy called back from his spot on the window. I faced him with a questioning look.
"Have you ever wondered what was in Kite's bag?"
The bag I was talking about was a brown leather bag Kite had started carrying for 3 months. Ikki looked hesitant as he looked out of the window before he approached me and nodded.
"Yeah, Kite always carries that bag everywhere and never lets us see in it."
We turned to each other before a smirk appeared on our faces, making us look like a set of mirrors.
I approached the bag and opened it while Ikki looked outside the window and looked for any signs of Kite arriving home. As I roamed through the bag, I noticed that it was filled with a bunch of books and papers of articles and letters.
Grabbing one article from the bag, I saw that it was actually a ripped-off piece of paper from a newspaper or a magazine. Looking at the picture, I realized it might've been the beam of light Ikki and Kite had told me about 4 months ago.
"Ikki, come here!"
Ikki approached me and took a peek at what the paper said. "What does this say?" I asked, not being able to read the writing system well.
