Chapter 14: The First Meeting

The scene where Hisoka chokes Gon

Taisiya's POV

Leorio jumped in surprised at my outburst and glared at me through his rectangular glasses. He was getting closer and closer to us causing my heart to beat faster in worry. My hands were sweaty as I continued to internally bad-mouth the old teen angrily.

Although I wasn't friends with any of the four main characters, I had grown up knowing who they were and their story. Even without having watched the series for more than 4 years, I still felt heavily emotionally connected with the four. I couldn't bear to see them get hurt, I also didn't want to fight Hisoka who I had depended on for so long.

"I just can't do it...," Leorio started talking. His eyes were wide and he had started to tremble, his body slightly flinching. Eventually, he placed another step forward.

"This may not be my fight... but I won't close my eyes and make a break for it!" Leorio lifted the piece of wood and ran towards Hisoka.

"Mm, I adore that look on your face," Hisoka revealed a sadistic look on his face. His voice made me shiver and not in a good way.

"Hisoka...," I couldn't help call out making the jester turn to me.

"Don't interfere." 

He used a commanding tone as he looked at me. 

I was not allowed to prevent him from harming the others. Despite the small worry I had in my head, this scene had to happen in order for Hisoka to approve of them becoming Hunters.

Leorio let out a roar as he charged at Hisoka with the branch high above his head. Seeing the speed Leorio ran with, I knew he wouldn't come close to defeating Hisoka. As soon as the branch hit Hisoka, the jester's body vanished in smokes as he stepped behind Leorio.

Just as Hisoka's arm was about to grab Leorio, a bright red ball appeared out of nowhere...

... and hit Hisoka in the face.

My eyes widen as I turned towards the source to see a familiar green-clothed boy holding a fishing rod.

"Gon?!" Leorio exclaimed in surprised.

"Gon!" I exclaimed in excitement.

"I made it in time," Gon observed the situation. Hisoka standing in front of Leorio, Leorio on the ground, and me standing a few meters away from them.

Looking at me a bit longer, Gon's expression didn't change as he looked back towards Hisoka.

When Hisoka recovered from the surprise, he turned towards Gon. "Not bad, little boy~." Hisoka observed the fishing rod in Gon's hands.

"Is that a fishing rod? What a fascinating weapon." Hisoka started to approach Gon making the latter tense up. "Allow me a closer look." 

Noticing Leorio get up, he picked the branch back up and ran towards Hisoka. "Your fight is with me!"

In the speed of light, Hisoka's fist made contact with Leorio's cheek.

Seeing Leorio fall, I finally tensed up and ran towards him and caught him in the air, turning to Hisoka with an annoyed look only to see Gon charging towards the jester from behind.
