Chapter 3: Shocking Truth

Silentgirl: Screw it, this is after another incident.  Didn't have time to write it.

Mera's POV

I woke up with my head cradled in Analiese's arms.  I felt pain rush through my arm.  MY ARM!  I turned my face to my arm.  A mark of a mermaid lingered on my arm.  My eyes widened in shock.  Before I could reply to the situation, she was carrying me in her strong arms.  I did notice that my legs couldn't move real well.  I also felt a little drowsy.

She carried my into her room and set me down on the bed.  I wanted to protest but my strength told me to listen.  She felt my forehead and led me to a cold shower.  My legs felt like they were welded together.  I just dismissed the feeling and drifted off to sleep.

Analiese's POV

If only she knew!  Damn Metusa!  Why did you do this to her?!  I looked over at my step-sister.  Her mermaid tail was a beautiful purple.  If only she'd wake up!  We may want to hide it, but we can't hide this secret from her any longer.  Mother came in as she slept.

"You know we can't wait much longer for her to figure it out."  "She will know when she wakes,"I said.  I hope is what I meant.  I'm not sure how she'll take it.  17 years and she never knew the truth.  And now she would.

Mera's POV

I woke up in my room with my sister and mother were in the same position as when I first saw them.  I got up and I looked at them.  Analiese looked sincere and guilty.  Why was she guilty at a time like this?  Analiese finally said,"What?  You didn't notice your tail yet?"  TAIL?!  I looked and sure enough, a tail was in the place of my legs.

I was surprised and it instantly turned into a pair of feet.  Analiese just looked down and said,"That's how I found you when you were a baby.  A half-mermaid.  We didn't know how to tell you, so we hid it from you.  We didn't let you go swimming because of this.  I'm sorry, but...your not actually related to me."  My eyes were in shock, and then tears came brimming.  "Why?  WHY?  WHY did you lie to me?!"  "It was a.."  "IT WAS WHAT?  WHAT WAS IT?!"

Analiese seemed to have snapped because she got up and clenched her fist.  Then she yelled,"WHAT DOES IT MATTER MERA!  I saved you from a darn witch!  Metusa said a man already killed your birth parent and I confirmed it with Vicki's help!  Your birth parents were murdered and you were their only child.  DON'T YOU GET IT!  Mother lied to me too!  Just understand that I didn't know who you were and why you were in the river!  Just calm down!"

She took a struggled breath and calmed herself.  My eyes were filled with tears.  I didn't know she could be this angry.  I didn't know that Mother lied to us as well.  I didn't know much of my past.  It was the fact that she checked about the subject of my birth parents that hit me the hardest.  They were murdered, and I was the last of the family that had survived.  I realized that I couldn't trust my step-mom.  I could trust Analiese, though.  She had saved me and cared for me.

Nothing will stop me though.  Nothing will stop me from getting my revenge on that man.  I WILL destroy that man, even if it kills me.
