Chapter 4:King of Diamond & Mera's feud

Narrator POV

Else where, an evil man was searching.  He knew that his brother was hiding a secret from him.  The King of Diamonds, as he was called, had already killed.  His brother, Hetar, and his wife, Spades, were now gone.  Why was he so sure that his brother had made the nymph run away with something.  "Looks like your well, Diamo."

He turned and saw the Witch of the Dark.  He just turned and said,"Did you seal them all?"he asked.  "No but I found something interesting."  He looked at her expectantly.  Was it really important.  She smiled and said,"The nymph did have a package from Hetar she was protecting.  I expected it to be some sort of book or treasure, but it was totally a surprise when I saw what it was.

I was going to go after it, but the Swan Princess got to it first.  I watched and saw her pick something up.  It turned out to be a baby girl.  Spades's very own daughter.  I could tell.  She had her mom's tail and hair.  She also had her father's eyes.  The Swan Princess left the forest before I could attack.  Looks like one of Hetar's heirs live to see another day."

He smirked.  He would surely kill the girl.  He went quickly to his brother's book and found a picture.  He turned it over and looked at the girl's name.  Merina.  Typical of Spades.  After all, she was a mermaid.

Mera's POV

I woke and allowed myself to move freely.  Yesterday, the girls had taught me how to make myself able to control my tail situation.  Now I can turn into a mermaid willingly, and only when I want to.  I decided to go help Vicki.  She was always nice and she was teaching me more.

King Of Diamond's POV

I wandered into yet another kingdom.  That girl had to be somewhere.  The Swan also had to be with her too.  I just can't believe that Merina hasn't been in my notice for 21 years.  She must have been obvious.

The people fear me in most of the kingdoms.  Not here however.  Marapolina was never connected to the other kingdoms.  It was always seperated.  My ex-wife is the queen of this place.  She never held onto a man for more than a year.  As I entered, the picture gallery greeted me.  Marabella's picture was the first hanged on the wall.

I looked straight down the pictures.  'Analiese...Rosella...Erika......Mera..!'  He stopped at Mera's picture in a gasp.  She looked beautiful, and she looked like almost an exact replica of Spades.  Long black hair and brown eyes.  The same description of Merina.  "Who are you?"someone asked.

I turned and saw the girl in the picture.  Mera.  "My name is Diamo, child.  What is yours?"  She looked at me strangely and said,"My name is not permitted to be told to someone who has no connection to my family.  Leave us in peace!"  I looked at her in shock.  She didn't know who I was.  She didn't know how dangerous it was to to talk to me like that.

I was going to yell at her when the girl named Analiese came in.  "Mera, come.  Vicki is waiting for you to arrive."  "Coming sister!"Mera yelled.  She looked at me and held up her middle finger.  When they both left, Marabella came into the room.  She looked at me and said,"Why did you come Diamo?"

I looked and smiled,"I'm looking for my brother's daughter.  Merina.  Do you know where she is?"  She scowled at me.  "She doesn't know of you, but she does know you killed her parents.  I raised her as my own.  Leave Mera be, and you will live.  I don't need more dead bodies in my castle then needed."

I realised she meant business, and left.  However, I would find a way to kill Merina.  Even if it kills me.
