Supergirl met Leah for ice-cream the next day after school. To say the look on her face when she saw her there waiting for her was a picture was an understatement. It was a jaw drop... followed by a subtle smile - an obvious attempt at trying to hide her excitement. It was precious.

Leah ran to the hero and by the time the two were face to face, Supergirl captured the tiny girl in a massive hug. She was beaming. They both were - and they had attracted quite a crowd also.

"Want to get some ice-cream?" The blonde whispered next to Leah's ear. She looked back in disbelief. "On me," she added, laughing slightly.

"For real?"

"For real." Supergirl confirmed. "Hop on."

As the 10 year old climbed on her body noticeably relaxed. Supergirl signed. Once making sure Leah had a good grip the pair took off into the sky leaving a lot of bewildered faces. Leah was for sure going to be a little more popular on Monday.

Once they landed they both got a double strawberry cone. The cool, creamy frozen food melted in their mouths and sent shivers down their spine. The owner of the little store had found them a booth near the back, in order to not capture too much attention.

"So Leah..."

"Yes?" Leah's leg bounced up and down - could be nerves, could be sugar.

"How was school?"

"I like school! I get to read and learn lots about everything - Miss Lyons always gives me books to borrow to read and take home but I always give them back! At the moment I'm reading a book about space! Did you know that only the Sun, Moon and Venus are brighter than Jupiter?"

"Wow! No, I didn't know that," Kara stammered (partially sounding like an excited child herself) making a mental note to get the girl a book or more. "What about your friends?" Kara pushed.

Leah dodged the question. "But the inside of Jupiter is made of rock, metal and hydrogen."

"Leah." The girls shared an unspoken conversation. Both knew what Leah wasn't saying. Supergirl decided to speak up. "When I first came here - to earth - I felt like I didn't fit in. Gosh I really didn't fit in" she laughed "but then I met people and I started to open up to them. I was absolutely terrified but making friends was the best thing ever. I now have people who know me, who I can be real around and let me tell you it feel unbelievable. Leah you aren't going to see me all the time so I'm going to need you to put yourself out there. Be brave. Don't ever put yourself down. You are smart and beautiful. You are unmistakably amazing and gosh..." Supergirl felt like she was getting a weight off her chest, "You are you. No one else is. No one else can be. You are unique and talented. And no one no matter what happens can ever take that away from you." Her chest heaved. Both were speechless. The Kryptonian had no idea where it came from. Maybe things she wish she knew when she knew in her when she was young. But she had a loving family - Leah hadn't for a long time.

When they both finished up, Supergirl announced that they were going to visit a friend before going home. When they arrived Supergirl knocked on the door and took a step back. To Leah's disbelief, Lena opened the door, inviting them all into the apartment. Obviously the home tour was unnecessary for Supergirl considering she lived there also, but that didn't stop Lena pointing specific things out to her wife. And the subtle flirtatious comments became somewhat of a game between the couple. Leah remained seemingly oblivious. She was more amazed that she was in Lena Luthor's home.

Unfortunately Supergirl's presence was needed elsewhere and after brief goodbyes she left via the window as per her usual escape route.

"Leah..." the CEO spoke, ever so gently getting the 10 year olds attention, "have you ever played chess?"

Leah eyes lit up! It was the one game which only she could play out of all the children in the home and she won nearly every time - even when playing against Ashlynn - one of the caretakers in the orphanage.

"I'll take that as a yes then," Lena chuckled. "Sit yourself down at the table and I'll find my set"

Leah left her bag by the sofa and made herself comfortable at the table. "My wife can't play this game," the raven haired business woman yelled from the other room. "She gets confused about what can move where and always ends up looking," she continued as she re-emerged from the other room.

"What's your wife like?" Leah asked timidly, unsure if she was even allowed to ask such a question.

"Kara is just wonderful." Absentmindedly both of them began setting up the game. "She is a little bit like an excitable puppy most of the time, but she is so smart and intellectual - Okay you move first - and somehow she always manages to see the good in people. That's one of the things I really admire about her. Then her looks; she is beautiful. She has the most amazing blonde hair; it cascades down her back like a golden waterfall and her eyes see right through me. I can't hide around her and she loves me regardless."

"Checkmate"

Lena blushed deeply. Not only had she waffled on, proclaiming her love for Kara, she was almost beaten by a 10 year old at chess. CHESS!

They were in the middle of the third game when Kara arrived home. Leah seemed to be pretty comfortable in their apartment now and that made Kara smile. The game however had descended into a game of chase around the board.

"No cheating." Lena said sternly as she got up to great her wife. After kissing her on the cheek, she introduced Kara to Leah who seemed rather unphased by the whole ordeal.

"Hey." Leah acknowledged Kara with a wave before returning to sourcing a plan to capture Lena's king. Kara allowed the game to last another 15 minutes before insisting that it was getting too late and that Leah needed to return home. Lena and Leah begrudgingly called it a tie.

The three ladies all got into the car and Lena decided to drive to Stellar Brooke's. In this moment Leah was far too happy to question how the couple knew where she lived. The journey was for the most part filled with singing along to Kara's playlist which although Lena put up much protest to, remarkably knew all the words. By the time they arrived all three were out of breath.

"Next time," Leah began as she jumped out of the car, "we should just fly - it's a lot quicker." She ran up the stairs and towards the house knocking on the door politely and waiting. As it opened, she waved at Kara and Lena shouting "Bye, thank you for having me!" before disappearing out of sight.

A/n: Okay so as it turns out people were actually reading this! I honestly didn't think you would but turns out some of you have and that's amazing. Whilst I can't promise a regular updating schedule with it being my last year of school and so I need to get good grades, I'm going to try my best. As it turns out story plans are very important as I started trying to write this yesterday I missed out a serious chunk of the story! You might have to re-read parts 1 and 2 like I did as I had absolutely no idea what I wrote about haha, but on the upside I do now have a half drafted part for the future. Sorry for any spelling/grammar mistakes - please feel free to correct me as I am very tired. One last thing; what do you want to hear about in the story? Do you want to focus on Leah or on Kara/Lena's relationship. I hope you all are having a wonderful day - Charlotte [tumblr:lesbianshipscentral.tumblr.com]
