Kellin raised his head, sobs subsiding.
"V-Vic?" he stammered. His eyes turned to Vic's face. He expected his mind to play tricks on him, but Vic was there. He was alive.
"Did anyone charge my phone?" Vic asked, smiling softly. Kellin chuckled. He sat on the edge of the bed, careful with Vic. Then he wrapped his arms around the older boy and cried into his shoulder.
"They said they weren't sure if you would live," he whispered, his voice muffled by the fabric.
"Shh, I'm here now," Vic replied softly. "I'm sorry..." Kellin held him tighter.
"I love you," he murmured. Vic kissed his temple.
'I love you too."
A few moments of silence passed. It wasn't awkward, just comfortable silence in which they revelled in each other's presence.
"Being so close to death made me realize that the afterlife would be worse until you are there with me, Kellin. I don't want to wait years until I see you again," Vic whispered. Kellin pulled back slightly to look into Vic's brown eyes.
"Please, Vic... You can tell me whatever is on your mind from now on, okay? I promise I'll always make time for you, I promise I will always listen and I promise I will help you however I can. I can't live without you," he murmured. Vic gave him a quick peck on the lips and blushed furiously. Kellin chuckled softly, pressing his lips against Vic's and kissing him softly. They kissed until they ran out of breath, and even then stayed close.
Sadly, the nurse entered that moment. She froze in the doorway and typed something on her phone. "Mr. Quinn, would you kindly return to your seat until Mr. Fuentes is checked by his doctor?" she asked kindly. Kellin pouted, but nodded and returned to his seat. He kept holding Vic's hand. He wasn't sure if he ever wanted to release him again.
Eventually, Vic was allowed to leave. Kellin hadn't warned Mike, Jaime, Tony and James yet. It was a little surprise for those four. Vic had wanted to call them immediately, but Kellin had insisted on making it a surprise.
