Helpless

Call 911

She sits down next to cade and pulls her hood up just as the bell rings and class begins. She gets called on and Cade nudges her to answer. For once she answered the question. "46. You multiply x by 2 to get y which wound be 23×2=46." Lilly says. "You are a very smart girl. Why do you never answer in class" her teacher says. "Because of her little daddy blames her for her mothers death because her mother was so stupid and protected this little weakling." Victoria hissed. "DONT YOU EVER TALK ABOUT MY MOTHER YOU INCOMPETENT BRAT!!!! YOU DONT KNOW A THING!!!!" Lilly screams. Tears run down her face as she runs out of the classroom and into the janitors closet to cry. Cade runs after her and sees her run into the janitors closet. He knocks on the door and says her name. "Leave me a-alone." She says choking on her tears. He turns the handle and steps in. "But here's the thing. I will never let you be alone. I will always be here for you, no matter what." he says as he wipes away her tears, looking directly into her eyes. She hugs him and he kisses her on the forehead. "Thank you." she says "I have never had anybody to take care of me." "of course. It's not a problem. If you ever need anything just ask." Cade says "Now lets get you home, school is over. How did you get to school?" "I walked." Lilly said. "How far away is your house?" he says back. "12 miles" she says under her breath. "You walked 12 miles with a twisted ankle?" He asked. She nodded and he gently pulled her out of the closet. "I am driving you." he says. "okay." she says  forgetting about her father for a minute. She gets home, hoping he is not there. Just as she steps through the door he grabs her forcefully and starts screaming "I TOLD YOU NO FOOD AND YOU THINK YOU CAN STEAL A GRANOLA BAR FROM ME WITHOUT ME NOTICING?!?!" he slaps her hard and climbs on top of her and punches her until she is unconscious. As Cade pulled around the corner he realized that Lilly left her sweatshirt in his car. As he steps onto her porch he hears Lilly's father yelling about the granola bar and he bursts through the door to see lilly's father on top of her unconscious body punching her  over and over again. Cade yells at him to stop and pushes him off of her. He looks at her face and a single tear falls down his face for her. But his sadness quickly turns into concern when he see's that she is not breathing. "WHAT DID YOU DO?!!? SHE ISN'T BREATHING!!! CALL 911!!!!!"
