It had now been several days since I had left the Rebellion, and Sabine... but I knew this is what I had to do. I had to sort myself out before I came back, if I came back at all. Space was a big place, I could go off into an uncharted sector and never be heard from again, but I wasn't going to do that, because I knew that the Force had plans for me yet. Now I had to find a planet.
I used the control pad to locate nearby systems, but none of which seemed suitable. Until one turned up on screen, Korriban. Kanan had told me the importance of that world, and it's great danger. The ancient birthplace of the Sith, as much as I hated to admit it, I knew they would never come searching for me there, so I plotted the Hyperspace coordinates, and made the jump.
As the ship flew through Hyperspace, I thought to myself, and what I'd done to Sabine just before I left her. A kiss, such a simple thing yet so powerful. Nevertheless, I felt guilty. Dropping a bomb like that on her and then vanishing into thin air wouldn't have done her any favours.
A few minutes later the ship left Hyperspace showing the orange planet in front. The thick clouds flashed with lightning and there weren't any large bodies of water in sight, but as I flew closer to the planet I began to feel its energy... something powerful... the dark side. I closed my eyes and sensed it's raw power, it was certainly understandable why so many Jedi fell for it.
It felt... good, really good. To finally have the power to do what needed to be done, to have the ability to destroy the ones who stood in your way. I opened my eyes and continued my course into the upper atmosphere, searching for a place to land. It wasn't easy when the hole planet was rocky, but eventually I found a place, and I set her down. With a soft thud, I landed on the surface.
The cockpit opened, and I surveyed my surroundings, nothing but rock and no signs of life anywhere. Then suddenly, I felt a strange.... hum. No, I didn't feel it, I sensed it, and it was coming from the other side of a mountain in the distance. I thought about taking the ship around, but then I remembered that this was the only safe place I could find to land. I'd have to walk it.
Making sure I had both Sabers and crystals, I set out over the desolate landscape. It was a challenge, but luckily being a Force weilder granted many abilities others would consider unnatural. The closer I got to the mountain the louder the sound in my head became. In fact, this hole place made me feel... strange. The dark side... I could feel it.
I'd never felt it so strongly before, even when I had the Holocron. The good news was it wasn't the biggest mountain I'd ever seen, but it was no less difficult to climb round. There were rocky ledges and wide jumps I had to make, and the closer I got the sound became more distracting, but I worked my way even when the sound kept on building inside my head.
Eventually, just before I could see what was on the other side of the mountain, it got nearly got to an unbearable level, making my head throb, but once I saw what was on the other side, the sound completely vanished. My eyes widened, and my heart began to race even faster than before. My first thought was Ahsoka, my second thought was Vader, but my third thought...Malachor.
It was a Sith Temple located at the end of large valley that's sides had been carved with statues and designs on the walls. Even grander than the one that stood on Malachor, and I had a feeling I knew what I would find at the heart of it. I began my decent to the chasm below, being careful not to trip on the smooth rock on the way down. The sun was beginning to set, and I noticed it came down directly behind the Sith temple. It had been built there for a purpose, it had to have been.
I climbed down onto one of the statues, on top of its head, I began my decent, careful not to slip on the smooth rock. I placed my foot on the shoulder carefully and eased more weight on it, but I ended up slipping. My breath left me and my heart began to race even more than it had been before, I hit my head off the chest of the statue, and then I fell all the way down onto my back.
I could feel blood running down my forehead and my back ached. I tried sitting up but couldn't do so without screaming in pain. I tried again, and this time I used my bloody hands to help support me. I managed to sit up and look around, there were larger pillars standing around the small valley which led me to believe that this used to be a building that led to the temple.
The temple itself... called to me. I could feel the dark side radiating off of it, so slowly I pushed myself to my feet and got my bearings. Still no signs of life anywhere, as I entered the temple I opened my green lightsaber and put the green Kyber Crystal in and ignited it. The halls were etched with all types of designs and at the sides stood statues of a different individuals.
Each one was carved differently, which led me to believe that they were Sith that had lived over the many years. Most wore robes, some wore masks, but all held a lightsaber, whether it was ignited or not. Down the main hall there were smaller paths leading off to different parts of the temple, but the one I was following led directly to a throne room, and the closer I got the more uneasy I felt.
The walls were cracked and the roof was held up by pillars. Each statue was absolutely massive and the roof was almost unseeable in the darkness, but one thing was for certain. It was old, it was very, very old. As I approached the throne room, I heard a voice. "Ezra," a female voice, young yet it spoke with wisdom, and it had a low undertone to it which made it sound all the more powerful. Eventually I reached the throne room. "I've been waiting for you, Ezra."
"Who are you?" Her back was turned, but she wore a black dress with lots of wavy designs on it, it was long and covered her legs entirely.
It seemed as though she was floating off the ground. Her hair was long, straight, jet black and her body was slim. "I've been waiting for you Ezra. Come meet your maker." She turned round, and she was possibly the most beautiful thing I'd ever seen. Her eyes were pure yellow, her mouth small, her skin pale and her cheekbones sharp.
"Who are you?" I asked, hesitantly. "I am Darth Nyla, the first of the Sith." Anger began to rile inside me. a Sith. I raised my blade and begun to swing it, but she smacked it from my hand with ease and used the Force to bring two large ropes each from the opposite side of me and tightened them around my wrists, then a third one came from behind and wrapped around my neck.
I pulled at my wrists trying to undo the ropes, "I will kill you!" Her face contorted into an angry expression and she blasted Force lighting at me which put me to my knees, pain searing through me. "You dare to strike your god?! Your Jedi doomed this Galaxy!"
"The Sith destroyed my home!" I shouted, but she grabbed the bottom of my chin and pulled my face up to look directly at her. "You destroyed your home you fool!" Then, without warning, she slapped me straight across the cheek, but it triggered something. I calmed down, and I began to listen to her. I saw her eyes as they stared at me, and I lost track of what was right and what was wrong.
"Who do you think gifted you the Force in the first place?" she smiled at me. "Your going to destroy the Jedi, or the Sith Order dies forever." I tried not to look at her, but I couldn't help it. Suddenly, everything she said was true, and everything I believed in was wrong. Maybe this was the way the Galaxy needed to go after all.Back on Yavin 4, Kanan Jarrus was meditating in his room aboard the Ghost. His mind was clear and the Force was with him. Whilst thinking about what they were going to do with Ezra, he felt a sudden disturbance in the Force. No, not a disturbance... an awakening. An old power had surfaced from the past, and he could feel it. It was overwhelming. Little did he know that a Sith Lord aboard a Star Destroyer felt the very same thing.
