The best present ever...

A/N Yay, it's Kensi Birthday! The team throws Kensi a surprise party. Kensi has a pretty good time until Deeks makes it a special night. Just a heads up this one is short. Enjoy!

        Kensi grabbed her bag and slung it over her shoulder. She grabbed her keys and walked out the door. On her way to NCIS she did something unlike herself. It's my birthday, it's my birthday. She said in her head. Usually she wouldn't do that but she had a reason. Deeks and Kensi had gotten closer, a lot closer. And Kensi really liked him. She knew without a doubt that he likes her back. But the reason she was excited was because she wanted Deeks and her to have there first kiss. It would be the best present,... ever.

        She found a parking place and walked inside. The lights were off. It was a surprise party, not much of a surprise. Even if Hetty had told Deeks he couldn't do it he would find his way around it. She also remember Deeks saying last night that he was going to stay longer so he could train Monty. He is the worst at lying.

        She put her stuff on the table acting confused just to make the others happy. Kensi walked around pretending like she was looking for the others. "Hello?" When she reached Sam and Callen desk Everybody jumped up. "Surprise!" Everyone shouted. What was a surprise is that Sam jumped up right in front of her and frightened her. She stepped back and lost her balance. When she was about two and a half feet from the ground it happened to be so that Callen was right behind her. He caught her and after a few seconds he smiled showing white teeth. She looked to the side at Deeks and could read his expression clearly. Jealous. But Kensi couldn't blame him. She and Callen did just have one of those romantic moments that were really only in movies. He pulled Kensi up to her feet with a soft voice. "Are you okay?" He put his hand on her shoulder. "Yeah." she said.  Sam clearly oblivious to the moment said "Oops, did I scare you?" he asked teasingly. Kensi gave him a mean eye. "Where's Eric and Nell?" she said trying to change the subject. "They should be here soon, they went to go get a cake." Deeks replied stepping between Kensi and Callen. "Cake, seriously guys? You didn't have to get a cake. You didn't even have to do this party." Deeks looked at her, "What partners would we be then?" "Ones who didn't try to make me fat with a cake." They all laughed and Deeks stuck his tongue out playfully. They waited a few seconds and then came Nell and Eric with a cake.  Kensi studied the cake, it was medium sized. It was a German Chocolate with big letters that said, Happy Birthday Kensi! She was about to tear up but held it back easily. "Thanks you guys!" Nell gave a sweet smile and said, "You deserve it." Kensi hoped Nell didn't feel offended that she called her a "guy". Singing brought Kensi out of her thoughts. "-to you! Happy Birthday to you! Haaapy Birthday Dear Keeensi. Happy Birthday to yooooou!" Sam, Callen, Deeks, Nell, and Eric sings. She was speechless, this was amazing what they did for her. She probably looked like an idiot smiling. "Well are you going to stand there or eat some cake?" Sam joked, Kensi just blushed. She reached her hand out to grab the knife so she could cut her piece.  "Whoa whoa whoa, what are you doing?" Deeks asked. "Um, I was fixing to cut the cake." Kensi replied. Deeks smiled, "It's your birthday, you don't cut the cake. I'll do the cutting." Kensi smiled too, such a gentlemen. Deeks carefully cut a huge piece and put it on a plate Eric got for her. He did the same to everyone else. They all got a cup of milk, and said happy birthday to Kensi.

         After they had cake they just talked. When Eric tried to make up a joke they tried not to be rude but his jokes were not worth laughing for. Kensi listened a little longer and decided to get some fresh air.  "I'm gonna go outside for a few minutes." She told them, they all nodded and kept talking.

        When Kensi got out there she took in a huge breath. She was anxious for her, well, present. She wondered if it would even happen though. She looked up at the sky and was surprised. It was all ready dark! Even though nobody could notice she was embarrassed for just now realizing that and had been outside for five minutes. Had they really been talking that long? Kensi tried to clear all of the things that were going on. Her birthday, her friends, the cake she had eaten too much of, and Deeks walking up to her. Wait, Deeks walking up to her! "I think I went outside to be alone for a little bit." She said her tone not meaning to be flat. "Nobody wants to be alone." Deeks said, "I do." Kensi argued. Deeks did a forgive me face. "Oh sorry, did I say nobody wants to be alone.  I meant that nobodys want to be alone." Kensi punched him in the shoulder lightly knowing it was just a joke. "But your not a nobody." Deeks said making it a compliment. Deeks and Kensi moved closer together. Mabey this is it! she said to herself. Kensi smiled and he did the same. They leaned a little closer, and a little closer. And then, when their lips touched, happiness spreaded from her head to her toes.
