Couple months later
We been in diamond bar for a couple months now. Every Friday night we visit Alex at her grave. I haven't had the chance to talk to David about Alex but he hasn't said anything. He knows the cemetery is a place where dead people are buried. He asks why were there and Emma tells him because one day we will meet Alex there.
I really do need to talk to Karla as soon as possible.
When we go to the cemetery David takes Alex's blanket and takes a book, and reads to her, or tries to.
Today I picked up Emma and David from my mothers house because I went out to look for a job. Once I picked them up we went to the supermarket.
"Mom we made a list of the things we need" Emma said.
"Okay what's on the list?" I asked.
"Well We need, milk, cereal, fruit, ham, bread, and you promised we would make banana splits. So we're going to need bananas, ice cream, whip cream, sprinkles, cherries, and I don't know what David wrote." Emma said looking at the list she made.
"It says, we need juice, and a lot of chocolate." David said reading the list. Emma still being in her crutches made her way to find the cereal.
"Juice and chocolate?" I laughed.
"I want juice!" David said pulling on my hand.
"There is juice in the house buddy" I said looking at him.
"No, I want strawberry juice and we only have orange juice." David said pulling on my hand again.
"Okay, Okay" I said while he ran off finding Emma. "Wait-" I said before being cut off.
"Heath?" I heard someone call my name. I turned around and to my surprise it was her.
No no it wasn't Alex Morgan
"Christen?" I said surprised and gave her a quick hug.
"How- how are you?" She asked
"Good, good." I said smiling.
"You sure?" She Asked. "Again I'm so sorry for your loss"
"Yeah, I'm getting the hang of new things" I said.
"Uh How are the kids?" Christen asked.
"Good, healthy, and cute like me" I said and laughed.
"Silly" christen laughed.
"I thought you were in chicago?" I asked.
"I was, I uhh wanted to come back here" she said. "I'm doing a favor for someone."
"Ohh well that's cool" I said not really knowing what to say.
"Your such an idiot" christen said.
"Excuse me" I said.
"Retiring from soccer?" Christen said. "That was your passion, that is what you love."
"Yeah, and I have two amazing kids who lost there mother to cancer." I said. "It was already hard because I was always playing soccer and now that alex isn't here. They need me now then ever." I said. "What about you? You played in Chicago then, you stopped, Why?" I asked.
"Reasons" she said.
"so what you up too now?" I asked.
"I'm a teacher" she said.
"A teacher?" I repeated. "Christen Press is a teacher, wow. And I'm the idiot? You gave up soccer!" I asked. "Again Why?"
"Reasons" she said.
