XXI •Forgotten Friend•

CODY'S P.O.V

We stand at her door step and she smiles at me, we didn't get to talk much after she had figured out who I was. She was everything I remember and I couldn't stop smiling and neither could she, I felt happy, for the first time in a long time I felt genuinely happy.

"Do you have a place to stay codes?" She smiles warmly up at me and before I can stop myself the words are already said.
"No, just couch surfing at the moment, my, record is making alot of people turn me down for a job" I laugh slightly and scratch the back of my neck.

"Well, your going to move in with me, no ifs or buts your staying, Nona loves you anyway not like she will say anything, tomorrow we will get you some new clothes too" I smile at her and she grabs my hand and leads me into the house after unlocking the door.

"So this is the ground floor, then the second floor is the office area and some spare rooms including Nona's and then up the next flight of stairs is the third floor which is my room and another spare room across the hall from me, that will be your room.

I smile at her as she walks over to the island bar of the kitchen and puts down her keys and heads to the fridge "Would you like a drink?" She calls
"Do you have just a bottle of water or something?" She doesn't answer, instead she walks back over with 2 bottles in hand.

She hangs out coats near the door and leads me up stairs and into the spare room to show me around, "This will be your room and mine is across the hallway if you need anything throughout the night feel free to come wake me up okay?" I nod at her and bites her lip.

"Okay well I'm going to bed, goodnight" she smiles at me and I return the smile, she's at the door and I catch her wrist before she steps out, I turn her towards me "Thankyou again for giving me a place to stay, it means alot, Ive missed you"

She smiles at me and pulls me in for a hug, my body freezes, I don't hug back at first but then I do "I've missed you too, please stay for aslong As you want, it will be nice having you here" she mumbles against my chest and I can't help but smile.

"Okay for real tho I'm heading to bed, I gotta go to school in the morning, goodnight codes" she leaves my room and shuts the door to hers.
I won't be leaving any time soon I mumble to myself as I lay down on the bed kicking off my shoes.

HAYLEE'S P.O.V

I roll over and look towards my night stand and grab the clock to move into my vision 6.45am greaaaaat. I pull myself out of bed, no use going back to bed now.

I grab the towel off the hook and go for a shower, after getting out I do my hair and makeup, a simple braid and some winged eyeliner. I go to my closet and find black jeans with a white Tee and pair it with my leather jacket.

I pick up my bag from the door and walk down stairs, I slide on my black hightop converse and decide to make something to eat when I see Cody in the kitchen already making Bacon and eggs.

"Hey codes, what are you doing?" I walk towards him and he jumps a little not expecting me to be up I'm assuming.
"Goodmorning Haylee, making breakfast, want some?" He smirks at me, I laugh and walk away.

"What? What's so funny?" He scoops up some eggs and bacon and puts them on my plate and does the same to his. Sitting across from me he raises an eyebrow waiting for an answer
"It's nothing, just a memory" I smile at him and start eating.

"What memory?" He asks his mouth full of food so and I laugh harder.
"Oh my god, please stop talking, food is flying everywhere, precious food!" I half scream and laugh at him and he just shrugges, asshole.

"I was thinking of the time when we were 10 and you wanted to make me breakfast in bed and I didn't know so when you came up with the tray I had to force myself to eat, burnt toast, half cooked eggs and bacon. It was so bad but I ate it, for you" I smile at my plate and I hear him laugh.

"God that was so long ago" I look up at him and he is already smiling at me.
"Yeah, I can see your cooking skills haven't improved" I wink and grin at him.
"Oh is that so Haylee James?" He smirks at me and I can't help it but I want to tease him.

"Yep good thing I didn't buy bread, you would have set off the fire alarms, not to mention your eggs are worse" I fake gasp and move away from the island bar as I watch his face get serious.
"Take that back, I'm a great cook, I didn't see you stop stuffing your face" he winks and I giggle.

"It was so horrible I can feel my stomach already hurting" I slightly yell at him and rub my stomach
"Take it back Haylee, say I'm a good cook before you regret it" he steps towards me and I move back "oh yeah? And do what? Tickle me?" As soon as I said it I clamped my hand over my mouth.

"Tickle you? What a great idea" he grins and starts walking towards me and I start panicking "Please Cody, I'm sorry, your a good cook" he keep walking towards me and I can't help but scream and run.

I feel him grab me and start tickling me "Cody!!! Please s-stop" im laughing hysterically at this time and I can feel him laugh against me "Nope, you deserve this!"

The door bell rings and it startles him, enough for me to get out of his grasp quickly and run to the door still laughing, just as it opens Cody comes up from behind me and slings his arms around my neck.

Grayson.

I see him standing at the door, dressed perfectly as always.
"What are you doing here Grayson?" He looks at Cody and I see his fists ball up and release once his eyes land back on me "I was going to offer you a lift today, so we can.. talk" I hesitate for a moment, thinking it over.

"Sure, let me get my bag from the kitchen.." Cody un wraps and arm around me and let's me go inside.

CODY'S P.O.V

I watch Haylee walk back into the house and then I look back to Grayson, I look him up and down he does the same but I'm the first to speak.

"Kid you don't have a chance with her anymore, infact you never did, you see I'm back. She will be mine before you can even breath" I hiss the last words and I see his jaw drop as i slam the door in his face.
