XXVI •Pick A Hero Any Hero•

HAYLEE'S P.O.V

I stand here staring in front of me.
My eyes and my heart's pounding?
"What are you doing here?" I breathe out.

In front of me stood, Cody, Grayson and Alex.

"We were worried about you Haylee" Alex speaks up and my eyes shoot towards him, "Would for me?! You disappeared again! Not a word, vanished and you got worried from one little text?" Tears are streaming down my face and he goes to step towards me and I put my hand up and stop him.

"I'm sorry Hazey" I still hold my hand up towards him and he stops talking, "Please Alex, just leave" I look away from him once I see a tear slip down his cheek. 

I turn to Grayson and he immediately looks down to his feet "Why are you here, didn't you slam me into a wall half an hour ago and tell me how much of a bad person I am?" I see Cody's head whip so fast towards him and take a step "Cody don't" I say and he stops in his tracks still heavily glaring at Grayson.

"I'm sorry, I was mad and upset but you weren't giving me a chance hell you wouldn't even return a text!" He yelled and his eyes went glassy and I immediately felt horrible "I'm sorry Gray" I whispered and he just nodded.

"And you, were have you been!" I shout at Cody remembering he is here "I've been out" is all he simply states as he looks me dead in the eyes.
"So your not going to tell me why you haven't been home for 3 days?"
His eyes darken for a split second but then they return to there normal bright brown.

"Haylee, you aren't my mother, I don't need to tell you were I have been and I don't need to be home everyday now do I?" He growls at me and i instantly step away from him "N-no you don't, but it would be nice when I'm screaming from a nightmare, someone can come get me out of it, especially when I think they are home" I state as more tears fall down my face, Cody's face immediately softens and he goes to step towards me but stops as if contemplating whether to do something or not.

I close my eyes and take a deep breath and that's when I feel arms wrap around me and I breath in his scent "I'm sorry Haylee" Cody mumbles into my hair, I just hug him tighter.

He sighs and we hear an awkward cough from Grayson, we break apart and I breathe in sharply from the loss of contact.

"So what now?" Grayson mumbles.
I honestly don't know, I didn't expect the boys would turn up here and be freaking out about the message.
"Well Alex is gone and I don't know out of the 2 of you who I like better" I smile weakly and look to the ground.

"Well maybe, we can show you? I know you wanted to end the game but what if it isn't a game, you just give as a chance to get you to fall in love with us, the first guy you say 'I love you' to will obviously be your choice, what do you say?" Grayson looks at me and Cody stands beside him, two very different guys, two very different loves.

"Okay" I breathe.

This is only a small chapter but it's a special one.

So Alex is gone but will it be forever?
