"We were so happy."

Kuroko was just there, in his house, alone.

Though, his mind was elsewhere. In his mind, he was happy, he was satisfied, he was loved.

How he remembers those moments the two shared...

"Akashi-kun!" the teal-head exclaimed, blushing as Akashi stole a kiss from him.

"Why? Didn't you like it, Tetsuya?" The red-head asked, a smug smirk clearly visible on his face.

Kuroko's cheeks went into a dark red color, looking away- obviously embarrassed.

Akashi, however, just chuckled. He then gently pulled the teal-head's chin, making the latter face him.

Akashi looked lovingly at Kuroko as he placed his lips on the phantom, Kuroko wrapped his arms around the emperor's neck, kissing back.

The kiss was slow, yet it was passionate.

"We were so sad."

"W-what?" The teal-head asked, tears forming in his eyes.

"I'm sorry,...but you know I can't defy father." Akashi said, almost like a whisper.

"So...you're really going to get engaged...?" Tears were now flowing down Kuroko's cheeks.

Akashi could only nod because he knows that if he opens his mouth, he would only sob.

"It's okay..." the phantom said, which caused the emperor to only look at him with shock.

"on one condition." he continued

"What is it?" Asked the red-head.

"Stay with me...just for tonight." Kuroko whispered, a sad smile plastered on his face.

Akashi felt his heart break even more than it already was. How he wished he could stay with the teal-head forever, but that was nothing more than a wish, both he and Kuroko realized that now.

"Alright." Akashi looked at his lover as he was dragged to their shared bedroom.

That night, they both slept in each other's arms, feeling their lover's warmth for the last time.

Morning came...

Kuroko woke up, looking at his side-

He was just there, on his bed, in his house—alone.

He felt incomplete, broken, and lost.

Smiling sadly, Kuroko mumbled the only words he could think of, tears forming in the corners of his eyes.

"I love you."

"The only difference is that I feel the second...and you feel the first."
