Me and Luke walked down the street to my house in comfortable silence.
It was nearly the end of summer but the sun was still shining and the birds were still singing at 7pm.
Luke's arm was wrapped around my waist and our bodies were touching, I'd never felt so protected.
We reached my house and Luke stayed at the end of the drive.
"Do you not want to come in?" I asked, confused as to why Luke had just stopped walking.
"I'm good, I have to get home," he coughed mid sentence and then smiled softly, "besides, I don't think Calum would be too happy."
I giggled and Luke unwrapped his arm from my waist and looked down at me, kissing my cheek before waving and walking away, "until tommorow, Taylor."
He giggled at his choice of words and I smiled, not that he could see it.
I turned round and walked up to my door with a massive smile plastered on my face. I shoved the key in the lock and turned it round, swinging the door open to reveal Calum stood right infront of the door, so close to it I'm surprised I didn't hit him with it.
I frowned and looked up at him. He wore a disappointed look on his face and his arms were folded across his chest.
"Yeah?" I asked, still frowning at him.
"You're going to get hurt, Taylor." Calum said, cutting straight to the point.
I groaned and rolled my eyes. Not this again, we must of had this conversation at-least 20 times already, and it only ended in arguments, "Calum why do you always think Luke's going to hurt me in some way, he's actually really nice, and he makes me feel safe and like someone actually cares about me."
"I care about you, that's why I'm warning you to stay away." Calum shrugged but stayed serious.
"Give me one good reason?" I questioned him, folding my arms over my chest and raising my eyebrows.
"You're going to get hurt." He repeated.
"Right." I said, rolling my eyes at him again.
"Please Taylor, just stay away from him," he waited a few seconds before carrying on, "remember that night I was really upset because of Luke's secret and how they were bothering me?"
I nodded, kind of latching on to where this was going.
"Well those secrets are what could hurt you. What will hurt you." Calum looked down at his feet and sniffed.
Was he crying?
"Are you crying?" I asked, taking my hand and lifting his chin up so I could see his eyes.
I was right, tears were forming in Calum's eyes, but not yet escaping them.
I pulled him into a hug. If there was one thing I could not stand was Calum crying, or anyone for that matter.
"Ok, I'll stay away from him, but only for you, and you're going to have to tell him why." I said whilst still hugging Calum, he sniffed numerous times on my shoulder before pulling away and nodding.
"I will, and thankyou Taylor, it's for the best, I promise." He managed a half smile at me.
"Wait, what are the secrets?" I asked, remembering that he never actually told me.
"I can't Taylor, I can't brea-"
I cut him off, knowing what he was going to say, "you can't break promises ok I got it, just please tell Luke tonight so he knows that I'm not just ignoring him for no reason in the morning."
