She never swears, but when she does

A/N: hey, so if you've been waiting (I doubt tho lmao) or wondering why I haven't been posting,  I'm sorry, it's because school has just been stressful lately. but here I am now and I'll try to improve my writing even more in this coming break I'm gonna have! for now, have this lil drabble I wrote ages ago! (it's incredibly short, forgive me)

It's not everyday Lena hears Kara swear, swearing for the reporter would mean she just had a really rough day with Snapper barking orders at her to change her article, or that it needs something more added to it.

Or it could be, that her laptop just decided to shut down at the right moment when she was at her best day of writing, (and she also forgot to save it, she was so focused on getting out the words before they're gone).

Or her favorite eating establishment not having something she has been craving for (nothing aggressive, she just kind of whispers it in defeat)

So it's especially rare for her to hear Kara swear in kryptonese.

Usually she hears it after a nasty battle with an alien, a crime she didn't get justice for, someone she couldn't save.

Lena tries her best to comfort her girlfriend in any way she can, she usually listens to her, reassures her that it was beyond her control, that everything will be okay soon.

Help her assess where she might have went wrong and plan what they can do so that she'll know what to do next time she encounters a similar situation. After that they'll usually order pizza and cuddle on the couch while watching some old movies.

But sometimes it comes out unexpectedly, like when she loses a game at game night with their friends. Or when she's trying to solve a puzzle and she's been sitting there for hours on a weekend.

Sometimes it's when she holds something a little too hard and it breaks (she squished a jelly donut by accident one time, the jelly was all over the carpet, it was a mess), sometimes it's when she forgets an English word and only remembers it in kryptonese so now she has to somehow use other words to describe it.

And in those moments Lena just couldn't think for a few seconds, because her girlfriend suddenly swears in kryptonese when she loses the remote or when she accidentally spills coffee on her cardigan, and if she's being honest it's the cutest but also the sexiest thing she's ever heard, and seen. (It's accompanied by Kara's signature crinkle and if Lena's lucky, a pout)

She can't help but blush when she hears it, gets distracted when she's on her desk fixing her paperwork, and has to pause when she's talking to someone on the phone.

Nothing she can do but to just sigh to herself and smile,

As she joins Kara on the couch, wearing their pajamas, as her girlfriend curses about how pissed she is at the Dursleys for treating Harry terribly.
