I was jerked awake by the house rumbling and shaking like there was an earthquake.
"What in gods name?!" I shouted, climbing down. I narrowly missed getting hit by what looked to be a plant sort of thing. Jack got up but was thrown through the roof by another stalk, someone yelled his name from behind me. I turned around and there was the princess stuck under a dresser.
"Princess?!" I went and shoved the dresser from her, helping her up. We ran to the door but it was closed and barricaded shut by a part of the stalk growing over it.
"Jack!" We called and tried to break open the door. It seemed useless. We looked out the bared windows to Jack, who was running back with an axe. The house was being lifted from the ground with the stalk. Another stalk part burst through the floor of the middle of the house. Isabelle squeaked when an axe blade hooked onto the window sill. Jack pulled himself up.
"Jack, you came back." Isabelle said happily.
"No no no no!" Jack said, looking down.
"What is it? What's wrong?" Isabelle asked.
"He's not wildly keen on heights." I answered for him. Jack began hacking away at the piece blocking the door. He finally got it and we started pushing the door open, but it was stuck. We pushed hard and the door swung open, hitting Jack. He would have fallen if Isabelle hadn't grabbed his collar and pulled him back up. The board under him broke and he fell. Isabelle grabbed one hand while I grabbed the other.
"Hold on!" She told him. The rain made it very hard to hold on and soon he slipped from our grasps. We stood up and the house jerked. I pushed Isabelle away from the door, saving her from falling out, I on the other hand wasn't so lucky. I tried to fly back up to her but a branch hit me full force and everything went black.
