My eyes open and I feel pain, pain everywhere, every inch of my being screams out with agony and my eyes close again.
I'm not moving but I'm floating. Floating? I hear a mans voice, deep and shaky yet soothing.
I feel lips press against my forehead and I'm no longer floating. Whatever I was put on is freezing cold, wet and sticky. No it's not wet and sticky I'm covered in blood. The man screams for help and not long after men and women dressed in scrubs come running at me. I try to feel for the man but he's gone.
I wake up to white lights all around me and everything is calm. The struggle to keep my eyes open isnt as strong as it was and I can breath without coughing blood. I know I'm in a hospital but how I got here and why I'm here is fuzzy.
A women with long wavy lushes brown hair walks in the room and when she sees me her face changes "Your awake! How are you feeling?" her voice hurts my ears. I look at her and think like I've been hit with a bus for it to back over me again and again but all I say is "fine" hoping she won't talk much more but I have questions who was the man, how'd I get here, what the hell happened last night. I know she can't answer all my questions she wasn't there but I want to know. My voice shakes while I begin to speak yes I want to know but I fear the answer I'll get "Excuse me miss but how'd I get here?"
She gives me a look I understand quite well its sorrow possibly pitty or maybe even both. She ignores my question, "Do you need any pain medicine, anything to eat? Lunch comes at 1 o'clock I'll get you the hospital menu." Then she turns to leave "Miss please?"
"There was a man he dropped you off at the door he left before I could ask questions all he said was your name was Fern and to make sure your okay"
"He didn't say who he was?" I start to remember him carrying me. I remember what happened at the house with Mark and Athena and I start to cry, "My sister where's my sister. Where's Athena?!?"
"It was just him, there wasn't anyone else with him." she walks over trying to comfort me but her touch just irritates me and I push her and scream. "I think you need some rest hun" she speaks slowly as she puts something into my iv and everything comes down around me and I'm asleep.
