"This is the start if something new" I breathed as I sat in my cab driving away from my home in Louisiana. I was driving to the airport to catch my flight to California. I was going to live there for the next many years of my life. For now I would work at a café nearby that I had already applied to. I would work there while I did my online college to become a professional writer and author. This had been my dream since I was twelve years old. I couldn't believe it was actually coming true. I pinched my self with my long, newly manicured, light blue and lavender, nails to see if it was a dream. It hurt so I knew that this was all real and I smiled.
"Thank you very much" I said to the can driver handing him a twenty dollar bill. He smiled and drove away. I grabbed my luggage, turned around and walked into the airport.
After getting my backs checked, getting my plane ticket, and waiting for about ten minutes, my flight was called for boarding. I shut off my white iPhone, with an ombré blue case, and boarded the plane. I got a whole row to myself and sat in the window seat. I fell asleep before we even took off because it was so late.
I woke to the sound of the flight attendant telling us we were about to land and to keep seated until we stopped. I sat up and looked at myself in the glare of the window. Not half bad for having slept for a few hours. After exiting the plane I went to get my bags then found the car that had been arranged as mine already and put my luggage inside then drove to my new two bedroom apartment.
When I go there I was shocked at how much it already felt like home. It was decorated just the way I had it when I came a month ago to plan things. I put away the final things in my bags then plopped down in my bed to sleep. I checked the clock 12:00 am. I put in pjs and got underneath the covers. I fell asleep immediately. The last thing I remember thinking was 'get some sleep. Tomorrow is gonna be awesome.'
