I pack my books into my bag as the last class of the day ends, and it is time for us to head home again. About time. I need the weekend right now. :''(
As I stood and was about to leave the classroom, I looked out the window and saw that it was really dark and cloudy. Oh no, please don't rain. I don't have an umbrella. I lost it about a month ago and haven't had a chance to buy another one. Last time I got soaked in the rain I happened to catch a cold and had to wear a mask in school for two weeks. (I was too stubborn to take a day off school.) I decided to hurry my butt up, in hopes that I could make it home before it actually started to rain.
I hurried down the corridor as fast as I could without bringing too much attention to me. By the time I reached the gates, it hadn't started raining yet, but I had a feeling my generally bad luck was going to strike again.
I had only been walking for two minutes when suddenly I heard the sound of rain hitting the trees. A split second later I felt raindrops land on my head.
....damn....it...
The rain kept getting heavier and heavier, so I was about to go find somewhere to take shelter when I heard "(Y/N)."
I turned around and saw Todoroki standing there with an umbrella and his usual blank expression. I would say we were pretty good friends, well, as good a friend as someone could be to a guy like Todoroki. He wasn't exactly the most talkative, but he was good company.
"Oh, hey, Todoroki, I didn't know you walked this way," I said. By now my hair and uniform was already soaked. At least my bag is waterproof.
Still pretty, Shoto thought to himself, looking at (Y/N) with drops of water clinging to her hair and her eyelashes and her skin.
"I don't. The other way is quicker. But I saw you didn't have an umbrella," and with that, he walked up alongside me, holding the umbrella over both of us. He kept walking, so I followed. "Call me Shoto, by the way," he muttered, while looking straight ahead. Was he blushing? Nah, the rain must be making him cold. Shoto... cold... yep, that's it.
"O-oh, okay, you can call me (Y/F/N) then," I smiled at him. He gave a silent nod in response, and we continued walking together.
It was surprisingly nice, walking with him, even though we didn't say much. There was the sound of the rain and I found our silence to be more comforting than any generic conversation about school or heroes to be honest. Like I said, Shoto isn't that talkative, but he's really good company.
"My house is here," I said, pointing ahead of us. The rain had stopped, and it was sunny again. By this point my clothes and my hair had partly dried, I had Shoto to thank for that. "Thank you for walking with me, you could have saved yourself a lot of time if you had walked your normal way."
"It's fine. It felt pretty much the same, if not shorter," he replied, looking away from me. "Wait for me here tomorrow morning, the weather forecast said it'll rain again."
Every day since then, Shoto and I walked to and from school together. Turns out I never had to buy another umbrella.
