Mute | Luke Hemmings &' Ashton Irwin (Lashton/5SOS)

*Ashton's POV*

I've always had such a fascination for Luke Hemmings. It was nothing he ever did and most certainly not anything he had ever said. The blonde boy never even muttered a word to me and I'm convinced that's how it would stay. Not because he probably wouldn't want to talk me, well I hope not, but because he wasn't able to, from what I've heard.

Luke's never muttered a word to anyone for as long as anyone could remember. It's not often, but when people try to talk to him or try to muster a response out of him, it fails. He doesn't answer which is why everyone has come to the conclusion that he's mute.

Rumor has it that he's been like that as of last year, but no one seems to have any recollection as to what went wrong to make him that way or what he even was before that.

The whole idea of Luke Hemmings fascinates me completely, his being, his personality, his past, anything and everything you could think of.

Most people would call this a little school boy crush, but I wouldn't. I would never consider it that. For all anyone knows, Luke's not even of homosexual nature, so even if it was a crush, that's a factor to if he'd ever like me.

Luke's never even looked at me. Well, he's taken millisecond glances at me in between the 3 classes we actually do share, but nothing more, nothing less. He seems to never look at anyone and if he does, it isn't too long, never more than a second.

Girls and boys seem to be obsessed with Luke Hemmings. Some say he's deranged and became mute to keep his deadly thoughts and psychotic opinions silent, while others just assume he's mentally ill. He's grown pretty popular with his image based on false assumptions.

Luke seems mysterious to all. He seems like the mysterious loner who hates the world around him and somehow, everyone finds interest in that, well some, as most write him off as that odd kid who doesn't talk and lives at the end of Maple Drive.

Personally, if I got know Luke, I wouldn't think he was weird. I wouldn't think he's any different from anyone else as people describe him to be. Everyone in this school just seems to be afraid of the unknown, afraid of the reasoning behind the 'mute'

The actual meaning of mute being refraining of speech or temporary speechless and I can't help but know that definition clearly fits Luke's persona.

No one gives him a full chance, and I don't blame them in a way.

Who would want to talk to someone who wasn't going to talk back? I would.
